Under the assumption Portugal beat Wales today (not a given at all):

Again, have to remind you fine gentlemen that we didn't think Madrid was winning anything and this Portugal team is mirroring Madrid's own title run with some obvious exceptions.

And before one says "Madrid have a better team", I would also like to remind peeps no one thought that besides very hopeful Madrid fans (Hala).

I know it's a difficult prospect to imagine for some but Portugal can beat Germany and France. This is very much within the realms of reality.

I think a lot of people are overrating Portugal here. First off Doc, there is no way anyone but Germany or France wins this. real final is tomorrow.

If you have watched their games, they have been completely underwelming. Finishing a distant third in their group and then advancing against equally inept teams by only penalties.

Wales meanwhile have been the surprise of the tournamant and have beat decent teams by taking the game directly to them. they haven't adopted the park the bus strategies that the other smaller countries have.

portugal does have Ronaldo that can singlehandedly lift them as he did in one game (I think it was game 2), but mostly he has been a frustrated player out there.

bale on the other hand is directing the entire team out there and often is taking the marking to allow others opportunities. I'd say overall, Bale is much more of a contributor to his team than Ronaldo has been to his.

(And keep on mind, I normally favor Ronaldo over Bale)
