Arkadiusz Milik

Lewa has been stinking it up in the group stages tbh. Milik has looked better than him (though he's playing behind Lewa and closer to the play which makes him look more engaged rather than Lewa). His overall play and physical attributes are very similar to Lewandowski, not saying he's as good obviously since we know what Lewa is capable of at club level.

What do you think of him? I actually think unlike the rest of the Eredivisie scrub forwards, Milik would be a nice coup for a club like Spurs//Leister/Soton/Valencia.

Right now he's shown he's pretty terrible at finishing going by the evidence of this tournament. Other than that, seems pretty well rounded. Do agree he has some similarities to Lewa though.

And he didn't cut it at Augsburg either. Bundesliga flop, seems destined to win the EPL with Leeds or something.

He doesn't seem like a bad striker, nor a good striker. But he isn't THE striker either.

In my humble, detailed opinion.

He's shit.

Average player.

You don't get booted out the Bundesliga (FFS, out of Augsburg) if you are a half decent talent.

Even if you are a young talent, there's always an opportunity.

He was 18 years old at Neverkusen and 19 years old at Augsburg you plebs.

Which league was Bacca, Costa, Falcao, etc were dominating at 18-19 years of age?

Surprisingly he's only 22.

I think he's better than you think, though I agree not elite.

Lots of 18 year olds did well in their BL clubs, and now they are average/good players at worse and elite players at best.

But to be offloaded to a lesser league, it just shows your potential ceiling ain't too high.

Not that Ajax are bad at developing, and yes, at 22 he's still very young...

But an elite talent he'll never be. So in other words: average.

Banega was offloaded to a lesser league by Valencia, does that change his talent level, no he simply wasn't getting enough minutes and when he did get the minutes at Sevilla (after his return from Argentina) he proved himself.

Same with Auba, Milan offloaded him to Ligue 2 and then Ligue 1 and it took him awhile to get going.

Milik didn't really get many minutes for either Leverkusen or Augsburg. Went to Ajax and got minutes and is showing his skill level now at the Euros.

My opinion is purely based on the Euros. I've been impressed with him in the 3 Group Stage matches. Has done much better than Lewa.

Banega was loaned. And he was much more mature than Milik, playing a lot more games at the top level. At Valencia, a potential CL club. He then went to Sevilla, another top club.

Not to knock on the Bundesliga (not happening!) but, if you cannot break into a decent team there, or even make your mark on your loan, you're not becoming a top level talent, I assure you that.

Do not bring Auba up, because he was a frakking Milan (), the horror of any youth player on the planet. He got his break on a half decent club, and he took it.

I'm not saying Milik's bad. I'm not saying he cannot join a top club one day who needs a player of his type. There are loads of average players playing at top clubs earning TOP wages, because they fitted in the missing jigsaw pieces at the time.

But to be an elite level player, it's very improbable that it will happen. Sure, it CAN. But I wouldn't bet on it.

This lad doesn't deserve a lengthy conversation tbf, no different to 'insert any lower league striker here'

Until he shows me his finishing is anything less than pub team level he's about as likely to become a significant player in football as MT is.

Failed at Leverkusen and failed at Augsburg so how good could he possibly be. Obvious waste of money for an average Bundesliga flop.
