we have dominated a few games this season and then dropped points in the last 5-10 minutes from a winning position.
season would look so much better if we got 3 points against Stoke and Arsenal.
think Arsenal had one attack in 45 mins and scored.
sums us up this season. We're not ruthless enough in front of goal and it's killing us.
Our strikers are letting us down.
Today, Arsenal were there for the taking. They were atrocious!! Yet one attempt on goal and they score. Very frustrating.
100%. We need to be a lot more clinical when we have the momentum. We dominated them completely. Literally the opposite in the later SAF years where we were the ones sitting back and letting them play. Only Chelsea seem to be able to close teams off out of all the league challengers.

The amount of chances we create is incredible, it's not bad luck when we keep missing them. A good striker is needed.

ridiculous how much more fluid and threatening we look with him in attack when we've been stagnant there a lot this season
showed it against feyenoord and then Mou starts that donkey Lingard instead at the weekend..ffs, hopefully he keeps it up tonight and Mourinho begins to start him in the league

Created another chance for Martial. Martial needs to sharpen up.

Phew. Held on this time. More than anything the emotion I am feeling right now is sheer relief.
Mkhi Targaryan was brilliant. Hope the injury in the end wont be damning.
The 2 defenders Jones and Rojo were awesome to everyone's surprise and ofc our commander in Chief Ander was class as usual.

We've actually won a match without bottling it. Mkhi is only out for a week, good news. Honestly a much better team when he's in.

2 wins and surprised no posts here but I saw a bunch of them when we lost. Is it pessimism or Christmas ? I am sure it is later . Merry Christmas.. Yayy..

We should've had 8 more points (Stoke, Burnley, Arsenal and Everton). We were far better than these teams and we were very unlucky against them.

Great win. Like the old. Slowly but surely we are getting there. And has Jose ever took a defender to bring an attacker ever in his managerial career before United? Its like we are changing the man and his ways.
Looking forward with renewed hopes and aspirations for 2017. Happy New Year to my fellow Red Devils.

I'm loving the team atm. Pogba proving doubters and haters wrong. All we need to do is get a long term replacement for Carrick. We need a #6. Weigl would be my ideal or even William Carvahlo.

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
For me the team is going very well and in the right direction, except some moments when Pogba should fight and run more when defending like he did for Juve (especially when he is played in a line of 3 in the midfield, even though he clearly has more offensive tasks).
And another thing is Ibra missing big scoring opportunities. He should be more efficient.
Squad is fit, this is something we didn't have since Fergie was at the team if I remember well.

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
We saw Pogba's performance against Liverpool. It was showing perfectly what I was saying about him because in comparison to the last 6 or 7 opponents when the difference in quality was bigger, now we had a very good opponent in Liverpool. He was the weakest player in our squad in the past two months I'd say. Ok, he scored against Boro a decisive goal but he needs long term consistency.
I hope Martial will play vs Stoke just because I think he is incredible on the left wing. We need to continue our unbeaten run and hopefully will start a new winning streak.

To Do List
Win The League Cup ✓
Win The FA Cup
Top 4 Finish
Win the Europa League
I honestly think winning the FA Cup will be a harder feat than the Europa League
will be very difficult against Chelsea

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Its a write off, the FA cup. Just look at the condition of our players yesterday after travelling midweek to France. They were weary af.
And here we have to travel to Russia just days prior to facing the best team in the league. They will win it comfortably. Just play the reserves. We will avenge them for the 4-0 league loss in the return fixture at OT. Now(the FA cup) is not the time for that. Jose needs to be sensible here.
Concentrate on the EL and dont underestimate any team thats left. We wont get a better chance to qualify for the CL than this this season.

yeah I agree, I would much rather field a weaker 11 for the FA Cup match.
That said I think we have the squad depth to be competitive in whatever team we do play

I'm still perplexed at how we bottled it yet again for the umpteenth time against a terrible team in terrible form. A whole entire half against 10 men, too.
Aargh this team infuriates me.

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Just put everything in the EL basket. The league table is not lying and there are 5 teams better than us in the league right now. Coupled with Mous wretched record against big teams of late sad to say we are not going to finish in top 4 this season. Cant even fkin win against the likes of Bournemouth. And there are a bunch of big games coming our way.
So, lets just focus on the cups now, lol. Compared to the league, the no. of tough teams in the EL are less. So, logically speaking that should be viewed on as THE route that grant us a CL spot next season.
Regarding the match yesterday, enough blaming luck, we are shit.

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
So, here we are with Chelsea standing in our way of a possible semi entry in the FA cup. Everyone has written us off already. Their fans are all confident and even their official website is classlessly taking the piss by mocking us. Mourinho will hate losing against them again, but I honestly cant see any other result. They are much better.
Do we have a chance, yea a slim one, but the long travel for us and a full rest for them has reduced that chance to even slimmer proportions
The thing is I have trust in Jose in games like these. He has that thing about him to pull a rabbit out his hat when chips are down. So can he do that, pull a tactical masterstroke? Was the 3-5-2 he employed for the Rostov game a preparation and prelude for this?
Man for man we have players to tackle their formation and with an additional midfielder we can try to control the game from midfield. Valencia and Youngy on either flanks will give all the workrate in the world for Jose.
Not really looking forward to this game. But the thing is we dont have anything to loose here as we are the clear underdogs. So, bring the fk on. GGMU!!

We're a team riddled with absolutely shit players. We need the mother of all clear outs in the summer.

Tbh, there were times when I thought the same thing. But sometimes, I am not that sure. I just think there are some players that can't help you much. For example Jones. He is a headless chicken. And eventually, you have to use him because we paid a lot of money for him at the time of buying, he was a hot prospect in England as a CB and sometimes you just have nobody else to use because of the injuries. He can't be consistent for more than 2 games. The 3rd game, he'll score an unprovoked own goal.
