Because, thats how we were setup. Jose went to his old ground with a clear motive to come back with a draw. It was evident. The wingers were playing essentially as wing backs. And Ibra lol he was basically playing as a no.10.

I say in a way I am happy we lost this heavily. Had we lost it 0-1 or 1-2, Mou wouldnt have ever changed his shite ways. Now (we can hope) he will at least think twice before parking the bus next time.
Its one thing having a plan but if you dont have the players to implement it then whats the use.
Our players (and philosophy)  are inherently attack minded, asking them to play defensive will be hard on them.
Logical thing to do at least until we strengthen our def would be to opt for a more offensive approach to make use of the quality upfront.

And yea Martial and Mkhitaryan needs to be reinstated asap, especially Mkhi, whatever be the bullshit reason jose is putting forward to not do it. Lingard is a squadie and Rashford aint ready yet.


Our best 11. Why this constant insistence on using wingers and formation with wingers when we dont have 1 quality specialist winger. Only change I would make here is to occasionally bring in Carrick or Schneiderlin in place of Mata in games we need cover. Rashford for now needs to be a backup for martial and Ibra.

Been saying this, this is not the year we will be challenging for the league. We are making great progress as a team, something a United fan couldnt have said last season under the dinosaur. Confidently can say we will make top 4. Only small thing Mourinho needs to be doing is to drop and sub off the underperforming players (a.k.a Zlatan) + integrate mkhi and martial in the lineup. If he does that we will easily make it.

Wish I was as confident as you but I don't think we'll make top 4, we're too inconsistent, can't string more than 3 wins, heck even 2 wins in a row, and we're battling against 4/5 teams who are more settled than us and/or just better.

Mou won't drop Ibra, he's to him what Rooney was to LVG- his main man. And Mou is clearly struggling to identify his best starting 11.

The positive signs is that we're showing signs of improvement in our general play going forward and ridding ourselves of LVG's rigid philosophy. On another day if we had a competent and clinical striker up front, we'd have won today and be further up the league too.

I think we'll finish 6/5 this season; next season we will be much better, challenging for the title.

Honestly this feels a lot worse because of your recent PL results. If it wasn't for that then this would just be one of those days which most PL teams have gone through already. Look at City Vs Southampton or Arsenal Vs Middlesbrough or Bournemouth Vs Tottenham. If you have created 32 shots in one match then that is a positive thing, specially considering it's Cctober and not April. You rather have that than 2 shots with no clear chances. Atm all of your strikers have decided to go on a barren run at the same time which makes it look even worse. If 1-2 start scoring regularly then these 0-0s would become 3-0s.

Could it be that Mourinho is letting out his frustrations that things don't work out as he wants at poor Bastian Schweinsteiger?

I just read that allegedly he is not even allowed to play with the reserves after being left out from the team photo...

I think they decided preseason that in order for Ibra and Pogba to come in with those crazy wages, some top earner had to be cut, and that was Schweini.

100%. We need to be a lot more clinical when we have the momentum. We dominated them completely. Literally the opposite in the later SAF years where we were the ones sitting back and letting them play. Only Chelsea seem to be able to close teams off out of all the league challengers.
