Rooney, Rashford and Smalling won't play in the pre-season, that's what Mourinho said in his first MUTV interview. They will go with the team at the China Tour, but they won't play.

Excited to see some youngsters. Axel Tuanzebe in particular looks a talent. Hope he will break through this season.

Heard about the man from FIFA. Never seen him honestly, is he that good? We've always had incredible players in our academy. Time to bring on some fresh meat.
This time we shall not give them free to Juve.

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Pre-Season
Yea I think so. Him, Fosu Mensah, and another kid RoShaun Williams are 3 of our most promising defensive(minded) players. TFM has broken through last season and looks set of big things if everything goes as per plan The other 2 will be knocking on the doors soon as well.
The fact that Mourinho singled out Tuanzebe's name in his interview says a lot. We are obviously backing these kids unlike the pogba days and are considering them the biggest priority.

Yes. But Mourinho mentioned his name and also mentioned Nicky Butt's and John Murtough's and the fact that he has confidence in their choices regarding young players.
I don't think he had an eye for them. It's too early. But, let's hope the new guys will prove themselves.

Yea still for a manager like Mourinho who have a poor record with youth to state in an interview that he will be looking at these guys is something. It must be the club and the youth coaches's work, thats true. But at least its happening, thats what i am intending.
Hope these kids will take their chances.

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Pre-Season
If you look at it that way, yes, it's a good thing. For me it matters that we will have some results in a short period of time (EPL or UCL in the next 3 years), then it won't become a complex after Sir Alex left, so players will believe that Man United can still win big after Sir Alex.
It doesn't matter how we do it, with or without youngsters.
That's how I see things.

Tomorrow we will play against Wigan. I can't wait to watch the game. I think a lot of youngsters will play (at least I hope so).

I've watched the 15/16 season review. To be honest, Depay was excellent, has very good ball control and dribbling but he needs to play more for the team.
Martial looked world class, getting past anybody without effort from both sides of the pitch.

A reminder that the numbers worn by the players today are not the confirmed choices for the 2016/17 season. #MUFC

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Pre-Season
Mourinho said that he wants his players to think of this game like a training, but not with the teammates. Also, he mentioned in the interview before the game that he will make 7 changes at the half time, but for sure he'll not change the entire team because he wants some of the players to play more than 45 minutes.
So, debuts for Bailly and Mkhi!

Blind at CB!
Jose trying to prove people wrong that only trusts physical beasts in defense.
Good lineup nevertheless. Luke Shaw!! Excited to watch the kid play. Its been a while.

Nice game until now, except the refereeing. The refs are a disgrace!

Wilson's movements have been uninspiring so far. Kid's not shining. He's so incompatible.

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Pre-Season
Agreed. Wilson is a level below the others.
TFM was like a rock.
Some nice touches from Bailly.
Mkhi and Lingard were the most active in the final third. Depay a little bit uninspired too and Shaw a little bit afraid of tackles.

I've lost confidence in Depay. I just don't think his technical skills are good enough to play on either wing.

Re: Manchester United 2016/2017 Pre-Season
Mourinho on Tuanzebe : "Sometimes you watch 90 mins, but just watching Axel Tuanzebe for 10 minutes is enough. He is that good. His potential is crazy".
Decent workout for the lads.
Pereira looks a class act. Its a crime LvG didnt give that lad a look in last season. You watch Lingard running around all over the pitch without actually affecting the match and then you watch this kid, the difference is astounding. Really think he will come back to haunt us if we let him go like we did with Pogba.
Januzaj, Memphis, Wilson, Keane. Quicker we get them out of the club the better its going to be. Depay just doesnt look cut out for this level. Perhaps his confidence is rock bottom. One way or the other time's ticking for him and needs to do something real quick to make it here.
Ma boy TFM looked quite decent as well playing full back.
