Assuming Mass Effect is actually good as the original trilogy and Horizon is as good as the reviews say has there ever been 3 games like that released back to back before in the space of like 3 weeks?

I genuinely can't think of anything like it, especially outside of the Christmas period.

Uncharted 3, Skyrim and Arkham City were released in the space 3 weeks too.

I remember that because I bought all three of them and FIFA 12 together Laughing

Arkham City 18th October , BF3 25th October, Dark Souls (EU) 30th October, Uncharted 3 1st November, MW3 8th November, Skyrim 11th November, AC: Revelations 15th November

I dind't play Arkham City until the following summer or Uncharted 3 as I didn't get a PS3 until 2013 but I bought all the others on release

if you take it back 3 weeks earlier there was also FIFA and Gears 3 release lmao

I remember that year being insane but i didn't realise it was that insane.

Bought Arkham City, Gears 3, Skyrim and MW3 on release, although i got MW3 from my mate for £20 and got rid within a week lol.

I practically played Gears 3 for 18 months straight.

Post by Firenze Fri Feb 24, 2017 7:24 pm

yeah MW3 was the game that retired me from COD, quit playing after a week whereas I played the others the entire year

Didn't play too much BF3 either, Gears was GOAT, I also quit Dark Souls within an hour and didn't touch it again for another 13 months

I just remember putting all my time into Skyrim and Gears

Revelations was quite good IIRC, was that the one in Turkey? Ezio trilogy was so good but IIRC that was the one where it started to give me series fatigue

It's a *bleep* 98 on metacritic lmao.

Easy Allies said it's the best thing to happen to Zelda since Ocarina of Time.

was always going to get fantastic reviews, a lot of the previous meh ones did too

it's a review darling

it does look really good but I've also heard a lot of negatives about it from people that have played, far from a perfect game like FIFA 11 was

yeah, I mean I figure it will settle at 95 or 96 but I always guessed around 92-95

looked like a game that would breathe some fresh air into an already beloved and well regarded series that people were starving for a new entry..plus it looks like a really good game

is it just ES here that will be on it Day 1?

The older Zeldas definitely deserved their high ratings as well, i think you're underestimating Nintendo's quality control, when they pump out good games, its going to be a good game. WW, TP, were fantastic, SS i didn't like as much but was still a very good game. Wind Waker is a timeless classic, its a game you will be playing 30 years from now and still age well. Especially with the aesthetic and music.

They're not 'review darlings' they're just that (deservedly) good

Agree with ES, tbh even the so called meh ones are meh for Zelda standards but better than most other games.

that said a mid 90s from back then is like mid 80s now

larger abundance of review outlets and this gen they're harsher too

used to hand out 90s like candy on halloween back then and corruption was rife

TP is my favourite Zelda ever lol.

SS fair enough it's still an 80+ game though imo.

Usually I agree lol, but 98 makes me sit up and take notice tbh.

Low 90s I wouldn't have even mentioned it.
