Re: God of War
- Spoiler:
- That whole scene where he's on the boat contemplating, then it shifts to Athena sitting and just saying 'Get out of my head, Athena' was 11/10, unreal acting and execution. The whole ride and walk back home with the sky red, unreal cinematic feel, plus the music was sinister af, legit felt goosebumps.

Now the reason that Kratos was "allowed to be tricked is that he would rampage like mad into whatever village he was invading for Ares and kill everybody, including innocent people. No survivors kinda guy. So Ares teleported his family into a temple of one such village knowing that Kratos would kill everyone blindly. Hoping that no earthly ties would make him the ultimate warrior for him.
Before that he had sold his soul to Ares because he lost a battle to the Barbarians, so he gave his soul in exchange for killing them all.
After he did get revenge with support of the gods, all could have been somewhat cool as they made him the new God of War.
Long story short Kratos was no better than Ares and used his powers to make Sparta conquer and invade everyone in the Mediterranean.
The gods get fed up and trick him to make him mortal and try to kill him. That's GOW2.
Then GOW 3 he goes full villain wanting revenge on the gods for acting like an asshole, and he pretty much kills EVERYONE in greece/Europe by taking out all the gods that control shit (like sea level and the sun).
Lool I remember when you had to smash random innocent priests' faces in GOW 2 to use their blood to open gates.
But I don't think he kills everyone in greece, just leaves the land in complete disarray. Doesn't he sacrifice himself so power of hope spreads to the people?

I wasn't that surprised it happened, what shocked me was there's two whole *bleep* skill trees and all the subsequent gear upgrades.
I wondered why I maxed out my Axe skill trees so early lol.
Still prefer the axe though, the depth and combos you can do make it more fun imo but it was still a nice surprise
Nobody here other than ES should read these posts BTW.
- Spoiler:
- it depends, i am fighting my second valkyrie and she keeps summoning grunts, so i end up fighting 6 enemies at the same time. within the blade of chaos i would be struggling a lot more... she is kicking my ass anyway

- I killed her using Frost axe, the frost axe's runes are OP, they disrupt her while airborn+slow her, spam electric wolves x3 as well, that takes her down by like 20%, spartan rage ONLY when your low in hp to recover hp, also the adds i 1 shot them with 2 heavy rune attacks, but i have some legendary equipment. block and dodge everything. Spam arrows, and pick up hp.

Remember the old guy you kill 3? times through the series until you find him climbing out of the underworld and knock him down again?
Yeah he impales himself to free hope to the world instead of giving it to ghost Athena but by that point Greece was done. Killing Poseidon rose the sea to the point that most people must have died + Hellios + GoW stuff + all the others.

Also Norse Myth is so *bleep* cool, I didn't really know anything about it other than the Marvel rubbish but now I want to read up on it tbh.

Re: God of War
Despite all of the things they did so well in this game, I think Santa Monica could've written a better story, and a lot of people wish they had included fights against some of the gods of Norse mythology. They clearly put a lot of heart and effort into developing the game, but I get the impression that story simply wasn't a high priority. The amount of lore they included is great, but the story itself could've been better, in my opinion.

Re: God of War
They are saving their big guns for later games, GOW 1 you just fight Ares, in GOW 3 you get to fight all the gods. They made it clear there's gonna be more games in the Nordic mythology so obviously they did not blow their load in one game.

Those people would be wrong imo, the game and story would be so much worse off if they did this.

Git gud imo.
In all seriousness if you think you are underlevelled then do some main story stuff.
Also what new area? If it's what I think it is then you might want to wait.

Re: God of War
- Spoiler:
- I went there early on and I didn't explore much but the main thing is it's like a challenge room with increasingly harder challenges.
You'll get stuff to make better gear based on the rewards, no harm in giving it a go I suppose and if you really struggle you can always go back later
But like I said I didn't bother to look so it might be more beyond that.
