taking your time to explore and stuff definitely seems worth it, did a sidequest after exploring instead of going straight through the main story, got some decent early game upgrades and like 4K XP which was good (the mine sidequest)

enjoying it a lot but I am pretty bad when it comes to combat flow, I'm good with the axe but meh with barehanded and dont use my shield enough

really enjoying the visuals, Norse setting is GOAT

Yeah it definitely is, also because of the level design being as amazing as it is means it all flows perfectly.

Also the loot you get for doing it in ones I've done are very much worth it.

Treasure maps are worth it as well imo, I was the same as you early on with the combat BTW but I'm doing ridiculous shit now I'm sure you'll get better at flowing between axe, hand to hand and shield.

Got to where you meet the smith and upgraded the axe and bow.

Its really good so far. The stranger made things interesting.

I spent 2 hours yesterday on an optional boss, all its abilities 2 shot me, legit screamed after i killed it and got some legendary items.

Honestly I much prefer this interpretation of Norse myth than Marvel's Laughing

Do you have to find side quests yourself or are they given to you?

Given, although there's treasure maps as well which you will find yourself which i do advise doing because they give great loot and take you to locations you might just ignore otherwise.

Although sometimes you go up against really high level enemies, just came across a group of Level 10s and i'm level 4 with level 5 gear and i couldn't get out of their fast enough.

Can you back track later on? I missed two chests (the ones with the seals) by stepping just too far and hiring a point of no return. I think those are the ones that extend your life/rage right? Can't afford to miss those

I don't think you can. My mate told me to not miss those at any cost. Maybe there will be a way later on in the game but considering there isn't really a fast travel sort of thing i don't see how you can go back.

Yep. And we haven't even faced the harder enemies yet lol

Regarding those chests. You can't get those now. I spent like half n hour trying to get to them too lol and sent a screenshot to my mate who said to forget those for now. They are accessible later on.

But i have gone back to old locations a bunch of times to face enemies i felt like i couldn't beat or find loot i couldn't get until i got better abilities.

The game encourages you to backtrack tbh.

Nice. I was thinking something like that so I went a bit ahead to see if it was a roundabout way if getting to them and then I just advanced the story.

Levelling up seems too slow. I'm lvl 1 hmm
