Judging from youtube and not actually seeing Sanches play.... I feel as if he looks abit overrated and isn't technically amazing... However he is very young and can improve and I guess Buyern have that much money they can take huge gambles in the transfer market.

I feel like he is the midfield version of Lukaku.
And if his career follows Lukaku's, he'll be quite a pick up in a few years.

Meh.
If we're going to do comparisons informed by looks and hairstyle, he clearly is the new Edgar Davids

He does fill the quota of a modern player can play in multiple positions and is physically imposing...... I feel like the game of football is moving towards a direction of the greater players being adaptable in multiple positions and being physically capable instead of technically better but restricted to one or two positions e.g Pirlo, Trezeguet, Riquelme of the early 2000's generation if that makes sense?

I meant that they both broke onto the scene very young, and are mostly known for their physical attributes as opposed to their technique, and they both started at one of the biggest clubs in a small league and are (or in Lukaku's case, did) make a big money move to a massive club in a big league.
I'd say they're pretty similar, and thats not even getting into their appearance.

Yeah, he has high energy, is powerful, and quick and at least looks smart on the ball. I followed Benfica due to Raul Jimenez so undoubtedly I saw the rest of the team.
Technically he's actually pretty decent and is actually mentally focused. Saw him play well against Bayern in CL. That combined with his physical game makes me believe he'll be a dependable player. Manuel Fernandes 2.0.
I think he's an excellent signing. So far, anyway.

Re: Official: Hummels and Renato Sanches to Bayern
Sanches is pretty limited technically. Have even heard Benfica fans say that in their forum (SerBenfiquista) apart from the 4 or 5 times I have watched him play this season.
Right now at 18 years of age, he is nowhere near the money bayern's paid for him quite frankly. But the kid looks uber confident, so dont be surprised if he is a elite player in 3 years time or 4 years time. He is basically a younger version of Kante with his driving runs from midfield, energy, physicality and high workrate. Bayern has clearly paid for potential here and they need to be patient with him.
