Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
Hip hop isn't relevant anymore. Lil Wayne/T-Pain/YMCMB killed the vibe around 2009 or so, but they aren't alone to be blamed. 90% is trap or auto-tune nowadays, stupid teenagers getting high af and making shit music. Music for *bleep*
Old school rap was much better.

@RealGunner
speaking of new rappers, the biggest anime/manga reviewer on Youtube is apparently a rapper now and is signed to one of Drake's producers lmaoo, just dropped his first single
absolute unreal use of autotune for the chorus, gonna do Drake numbers IMO
man looks like Blackbeard from One Piece

Put some names forward.
If by new you mean after 2010, which I'm assuming it is so since Future was mentioned, that would include the likes of Kendrick Lamar and J Cole Other members aside from Kendrick of Black Hippy are good, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Ab Soul. Also representing the West Coast there's Vince Staples and YG.
Travis Scott is great, probably the best autotune rapper. T-Pain the pioneer of it said Scott is better than he was. Aside from autotune, he's got good flow and ad-libs.
Chance The Rapper and Childish Gambino are different to the usual stuff but I really like their stuff. Acid Rap by Chance and Because The Internet by Gambino are incredible pieces of work.
Out of all the emo rappers, Lil Uzi Vert is the best. He's a great lyricist and unlike Future you can actually understand what the f he is singing.
Migos is a great group although their latest album is an average cash grab. Rap in all eras always had bangers and Migos puts out some amazing bangers. Offset is my favorite member of Migos and the album he out out with 21 Savage was filled with top bangers. Offset and Takeoff both have insane flow. Run The Jewels is another great hip hop duo, love their albums.
Joey Badass is one of my favorites. As good a rapper as he is an actor. Drake made Meek Mill look like a joke but he has put out a lot of good stuff over the years. Old mixtapes of Logic, Migos, and Mac Miller were all god and A LOT better than their studio albums. The likes of 21 Savage, Post Malone and NAV are decent and a lot better than the retard that was just posted although a lot of people don't enjoy mumble rap or their style.
Of course I fully expect all these names to be ROFLed and facepalmed just because they are new. I mean RG used to incessantly shit on Drake (justice4Gil) and then once he actually listened to his songs, became his biggest fan 90s hip hop will forever be my favorite era but I'm not blinded by nostalgia and automatically hate everything new. Rap is a lot better now than it was 10 years ago when Young Money and trash like Tyga were the hottest thing.
A few out there rappers Danny Brown, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler The Creator.

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
This one is a great song (of Travis Scott) imho. i listen since less than 2 years so i assume it is recent. Every once in a while i come across a gem and it feels good.
I listen to his discography with an open mind but i was disappointed. Same for Kendrick Lamar, same for Future etc. Only J Cole was worth the time i spent. Then i gave up on all that when i realized the beauty of classical music, in 2017. Now i have centuries of material to discover from Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Bach

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
Lol at posting Lanze and acting as if he is a hot new relevant rapper and representative of today's hip hop. The guy is a meme and joke, so relevant that he does not even have a wiki page.
That said I bumped into his twitter and I am in tears

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
Thanks for the suggestions, i've listened to the whole songs just because it's you
Butterfly Effect was my favourite of the lot, i could imagine myself smoking a blunt to it with my biatch lying aside of me. To me music is all about emotions, putting me in a vibe other than my neutral self.
Most of trap/dirty south i feel nothing but emptiness. The few artists i appreciate would be Three 6 Mafia, Master P and his clique, UGK, Pastor Troy, Geto Boys, Lil Boosie... all ceased to be relevant a while ago.

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
I go to a lot of concerts in Toronto and if there’s ever anyone even remotely related to drake by way of a feature or part of ovo then there’s always whispers he’s going to be there. I’ve learned not to get my hopes up because he’s literally Batman in this city.
He was at the Raptors game last night so everyone knew he was in town and boom, he comes through tonight. Everyone went wild. Absolutely unreal show with or without him. Still a bit drunk though so my feelings are that much more amplified

Man! I need to go to concerts, I'm missing out.
Cole was here in 2016 I think. Drake as well, although he didn't have a concert, think he video'd the One Dance video
