Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
It was a great experience, a bit pissed since my friend said it was frontrow but we were in 2nd row, nevertheless it was great. My only gripe is that i had a screaming 9year old behind me. Also, they didnt allow banners in the section that i was sitting since its infront of where the cameras are perched (behind us) told me it blocks it. Nevertheless i managed to sneak it in with my buddy covering me. Tried to get it out the first match but the security is on my ass, at the end of each row they standing there like chad waiting for a Benz criticism. I didnt get to find an opportunity as the camera didnt pan my way, there was one solid opportunity during a segment that involved Ambrose Asylum (dont wanna spoil) but unfortunately the chad came and took it away from me and gave me a warning that i might be escorted out.
Matches (spoiler for ones who wanna see RAW tonight)
I'll upload some pics tomorrow, to burned out now
Matches (spoiler for ones who wanna see RAW tonight)
- Spoiler:
- Big Show squashes Social outcasts, this was pre RAW, to hype the crowd, i swear i think i can take on one of the Social outcasts, im taller than them and i think i can use that to my advantage
Tyler Breeze vs Kalisto, good match, Lucha chant is contagious, everyone was rooting for Kalisto
RAW starts
Ambrose Asylum, Dean comes out talks about some guy called corden(?) who's parents are here tonight. Invites Shane up as his first guest. Shane says its all about the fans, Kevin Owens comes in, tells him he wants another chance and insults Zayn, Zayn comes and rebuts him, Jerocho shows up and tension between 4 of them. Shane exits the ring and organized Jericho v Zayn match and Dean v Owens
Jericho v Zayn starts, great match i tried my best to shout in Arabic but i dont think he got it. Sadly Jericho wins. BTW, i really need to incorporate 'do you understand what i am saying to you right now' in my day to day dialogue, GOAT line
I think up next was Enzo and Cass vs Dudleys, got an amazing pop and they will surely become as popular as New Day imo, good thing they won, New Day vs Enzo and Cass needed
Up next was Roman, boos as usual, uses his stupid im the guy line which got old the 2nd time he used it. AJ comes out tells him how every match is the match of his life, and how he gonna beat him. As AJ exits Bullet Club comes out and destroys Roman and ppl go wild. AJ looks absolutely shocked.
I think next was Womens match, honestly cant remember the order properly, Paige gets an insane pop, 8 women tag team with some jobbers with Charlotte, ofc the team with Sasha, Becky and whatsherface wins
Backstage AJ apologizes for Roman about Bullet Club attacking him, Roman tells him to sod off and stop lying
Miz TV comes out and people boo him, section behind me shouting 'GET YOUR TITS OUT' @Marsy lmao, Cesaro comes in and interrupts him. Miz activates his trap card and the LON show up to help him, but guess what? Swiss Superman rips off his tux and underneath is...a booty O's shirt, que the New Day song the most deafening pop/screams ive heard in my life. Highlight of the day for me imo, Cesaro and New Day win
Fandango vs Boring Corbin, Boring Corbin comes next to us after downing Fandango, guy next to screams from the top of his lungs 'YOU SUCK' Corbin turns to him and tells him he's stupid. Oh and Dolph was by the commentators, comes out later and gets squashed. Corbin wins
Apollo Crews vs Social outcasts, jobber match
Vaudevillains beat Usos, ugh
Dean vs Owens great match, Dean wins. But they stayed for 30 mins more, i heard a guy saying its a house show? Anyways, Jericho comes out and AJ comes out and its Dean-AJ vs Owens-Jericho, Dean-AJ win.
Overall great RAW imo
I'll upload some pics tomorrow, to burned out now

Don't see how it's same ol same ol considering Payback is full of new feuds lol.
Same ol same ol, would be repeating Styles and Jericho, putting HHH in a title rematch with Reigns, burying Ambrose, Continuing with New Day and League of Nations and i could on and on really.
Not liking it is one thing but saying same ol same ol is just factually wrong. The mere idea that they are pushing AJ Styles, Zayn and Owens among others to main event level immediately negates that argument.

Glad they are putting Anderson and Gallows with AJ
Should bring an interesting dynamic to the title match, also the crowd loves Enzo

So far, I'm happy that we haven't seen a match between Zayn/Owens, Jericho/Ambrose and Reigns/AJ. If they can keep that up for a couple more weeks we might get some fresh and interesting matches at Payback.
About to watch RAW. Will give me thoughts soon.

New or old isn't really the problem, it's more that RAW as a whole needs to be repackaged. 90% of the time I skip through all the matches because I only care about the ending. I usually only watch for promos/backstage segments.
I think it's more that there's no big story going on currently, which means the show isn't must watch. And RAW without a big story is just your typical standard WWE feuds, so it doesn't really matter whether they're new or not.
Imo RAW should be:
2 hours
Short 5 min matches
Controversial big main event story
Emphasis on pushing those with mic skills/character/charisma
More backstage segments and the show should have a story/TV show esque feel
More promos
Basically the attitude era format. You don't need TV 14 to change a format either.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
I thought this RAW was a little weaker than last week's. Four tag team matches felt excessive, especially when two of them were eight-man/woman tags. Jericho/Zayn and Ambrose/Owens were good. Is it just me who wants that plant pot to go over Jericho's head at some point?
Probably the big thing to come out of this RAW is Bullet Club attacking Reigns. Now we have this unpredictable element going into Payback which leads me to believe Styles/Reigns will end in DQ. Although if their plan is to turn Styles heel then surely they realise attacking Reigns will likely produce a loud pop instead of heat.
Speaking of loud pops: more proof that The New Day are crazy over, as are Enzo and Cass. It seems logical that this will be the next tag team feud, but at the same time I'm not sure either team should turn heel yet.
Funny you should mention these because that's exactly what they've been doing the last couple of RAWs. Tonight we had the 15-20 min opening segment with five people, Enzo/Cass promo, Miz/Cesaro promo and a Styles/Reigns promo. They had backstage segments with Bullet Club, Styles and Reigns, and one with Natalya.
RAW's not going to be a two hour show again any time soon, unfortunately, but recently they've been using the three hours better.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
I'd say former members of the Bullet Club coming in and attacking the WWE champion on behalf of the no 1 contender is pretty controversial
Also what Jay said, also most of their feuds building towards Payback have been interesting. Can't think of one that doesn't interest me, it's been miles better than the build to Wrestlemania.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
If they can continue with the backstage segments, then that's good. But the match length needs to be cut down. It's boring sitting through a wrestling match unless it's on a PPV. I only care about the result on RAW.
The other thing is the 2 guys in the main storyline aren't entertaining. If you go back to an Austin or a Rock, their promos and antics alone would wow everyone. AJ Styles and Reigns have the personality of an average joe on the street. They aren't larger than life prototypical WWE superstars.
I get the impression they're just filling time just to get to the PPV. That's the wrong way to go. They need to take the weekly shows more seriously because they're just as important if not more.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
Match length was pretty perfect last week, I do think some of it dragged a little this week though. Although I'm pretty convinced it was partly due to be on the European tour thing as aside from one Raw where HBK and Cena headlined it they have all been pretty shit.
We'll see, I'm mostly happy with what they are doing post Wrestlemania though even if the Shane angle makes no damn sense.

Does anyone else find the smark crowds annoying? It was fun at first, but now it just ruins the show. They make the show all about them by hijacking it with their hipster chants, trying to act cool.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
The thing with the Shane angle is that I don't think many actually care if it makes sense or not
People are just happy to have him on TV being a babyface GM instead of the Authority coming out and telling everyone how stupid they are.
Yes, they are annoying, especially when they start disrespecting talent or shitting over segments that don't deserve to be.
The London crowd was good, though, for the most part. Very vocal and into what's happening without crossing the line.

Depends what they chant, for example I always absolutely hated it when stone cold would cut a promo and all you could hear was "what" every 2 seconds.
Took my enjoyment away from it completely, not all of them were smarks obviously but just to use an example.

Oh I agree completely, it definitely makes the show more enjoyable but I would like some semblance of sensible storytelling instead of "he's back again lol".

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 26
I mean I don't mind if Reigns/Cena are booed, because it's justified. The Rock initially got heat for his generic babyface character and that allowed him to turn heel and become the goat.
I feel like a lot of NXT guys aren't 100% over due to their talent. They're over because the smark crowd like NXT as a whole, as some sort of an anti-WWE movement.
Like Jason Jordan and Chad Gable at NXT a few months ago. It was just people joining the bandwagon and chanting for them just for the banter.
