Who is Bayern's best player?

If you had a gun to your head and forced to pick just one player, who do you say is their best player and the most responsible for them being consensus world #1-2 top team?

I had this argument the other day with my friends and everyone chose a different player, which made me curious what GL thinks.

That's probably my feeling too. However, I very much prefer not having a gun to my head in the first place.

Robben's the best, but he is so much injured that he can't be the most important...

As most important, this season I'd go with Lewandowski.

If we're talking importance, I'd say Lahm, Alaba, Müller > Lewa

Anyway, it's a futile exercise. There isn't such a thing as a best or most important player in our team.

How can Robben be the best when he is so limited? I'd even take Muller over him and I'm not really a fan of him either.

Well, when he has the ball he is a very one trick pony.

However 1. what does it matter if he's so good at it? and 2. without the ball he isn't a one trick pony as he makes a lot of dangerous runs behind the defence, and thanks to that Bayern won the CL to Dortmund and Holland almost won a World Cup.

Which time frame are we talking about? During van Gaal era it was definitely Robben. During Heynckes era it was probably Ribery. During Pep era it's a tight one between Müller or Lewandowski.

Neuer, Alaba etc. must be a joke. Not even close.

But are we talking about best or most effective? Because clearly he is an effective player, but I just feel that you have to be more complete to be called the "best". Robben dominates one aspect of the game, dribbling, and can be a useful presser at times, but I'd say there are players at Bayern that excel more at their positions than him.
