Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Apparently, reading the comments here, Yaya has been a poor jobber all his life.
City definitely didn't need him to win any of their titles. Half-broken Aguero was more than enough.

I think its safe to say we won't be saying #JusticeForPellegrini like we do with Mazzarri.

Only started doing that as a joke towards Robes because it was funny how much he didn't like him.
It's actually funny how it's now an in general thing, it works though considering he's doing a good job at Watford.
Anyway what the *bleep* is up with those City kits loool?

Guardiola: Top-four finish very tough for Man City
This guy
Spends €200m on a squad that's already worth half a billion Euros and then says shit like that. And you wonder why some people don't like him

Not sure why anyone would dislike someone based on something like that if I'm honest.
That's very petty and childish.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Maybe, but in the article he's praising most of the contenders and I don't think it's false praise as I think he genuinely thinks they are great teams.
The struggle to finish top 4 comment is a bit weird having said that a large majority of people on this forum thought they'd a massive overhaul or he'd struggle. So you can't have it both ways but it's not something which would bother me, It shouldn't bother anyone who is actually a grown up either.
There's nothing said in that article which should make any mature and balanced human being upset matter about angry.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Because he is the definition of a dishonest person.
There is one thing I hate more than arrogance and that is fake humility. In that sense I prefer the devil, Mourinho to Guardiola. And in no way I'm promoting Mourinho, I'm just saying he says what he wants, cynical or not but this guy always calculates what he says, it is never from the heart. You can see it in his interviews, and I don't need to say more than some of his former players have already said.
e.g. all the bullshit about "this player should stay because he can help the team" (while practically isolating them and giving them a few minutes here and there). A trend that has happened far too many times to be ignored.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Who actually cares lol.
Also how do you know he's being dishonest? You don't see his mind you don't know that's not how he feels just because you find the notion a bit ridiculous.
People on this forum get far too emotionally invested into managers and what they say in interviews, none if it actually matters.
Is he saying anything which is worthy of criticism? Not really.
Also using everyone's here logic do you know who is dishonest? Arsene Wenger, but everyone loves him. I don't really care but using your logic, every manager says things in the best interests of himself and his football club.
If you are going to get upset or angry based such a silly thing as this you are going to lead a very stressful life.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
I agree with most of what your saying but for him to say it will be hard for city to get top 4 is just silly. he knows. we know. his players know and the world knows they will get top 4 so who is he trying to kid. tbh I like pep. I think he is the best manager in the world by far. but this comment is just silly.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Who actually cares lol.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
A week after saying that Bournemouth are the best side he played against (having beaten them 4-0), now he said that Swansea are the team with the best build up play he played against
He just can't contain himself can he-- patronizing every opponent there is.

Dude you are trying to hard now. Maybe Swansea did have the better build up? They also caused city a lot of trouble with their pressing. They did have better build up and City struggled in the first half.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Leon Britton after Swanseas 3-1 home defeat to City:
“In terms of the passing, I don’t think I’ve played against a team in the Premier League who keep the ball as well they do with the rotation and the movement.
“Look at the keeper. He’s an extra player. He drops his shoulder and beats a man.
“You think you have them pressed in and there was one instance in the first-half when we did it and he just clipped a ball over all of our heads to Kevin De Bruyne on the halfway line and he was the free man.
“Things like that make it so tough for any team that faces them.
“They are the best I have faced in the Premier League.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Meh.
Wait till the fixture list piles up. Its been an easy sail for them so far and lesser number of games has really helped them. But the apparent lack of quality and aging legs in their defense will start to show once football really start to heat up by December/January.
Swansea almost nearly matched them man for man especially in the first half and City were lucky to not concede via a turned down penalty call and then they themselves got the rub off the green when they got a similar soft pk. It could have gone either way, the result of that game.
Pep's an unknown animal for PL managers. His style of football is alien to them. Thats why most are clueless how to face them. By second half of the season people will prepare better against them. And of course if anyone think they can successfully mount a challenge in every competition they are playing with those set of defenders, then they are in for a surprise.
Next season tho, once he addresses all their weaknesses in their team they will rightly be a force I admt. They will walk the league. This season on the other hand, it will be far closer affair than people are expecting it to be.
But then again if you look at the other teams in the league I cant see anyone who is going to properly challenge them. So if thats the case yea they will walk it true. But if one team decide to show up this season as a genuine challenger it will get really interesting.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Sergio Aguero explains Pep Guardiola's internet ban at Man City's training ground, saying that at first he thought it was a joke.
“Yes, it’s true. He cut the internet," Aguero said, per ESPN. "I didn’t know anything about it. ‘What happened? We don’t have the internet here,’ I said. In the dressing room, where everything is all closed off, there is no signal. Therefore you can only use the wifi. ‘Is the wifi broken? What happened?’.
"In this place [below ground], I was preparing the orange juice, and they were asking if the internet was working. ‘I think it’s broken,’ I said. I thought they were messing with me, but it was right. He had cut the internet.
"In the changing room, massage room and pool we don’t have the internet. Upstairs there is a little bit of 3G.
"It seems that one time, he entered the massage rooms and saw one of my team-mates, I don’t know who it was, relaxing with his phone and, I don’t know, maybe he did not like it. From then, he cut the internet."

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
This is not the first time he takes drastic measures though. At Barça, especially in his first year, Monday to Friday, the players were expected to be at home by midnight at the latest and they could expect a late-night call from Guardiola or an assistant.
If it went unanswered, then not properly explained, a four-figure fine was on the way.
