Re: The Oscars 2016 | 88th Academy Awards
Big congrats to Leo Dicaprio. That win was long overdue.
Spotlight winning best picture??? Smh. I appreciated the message in that movie but goodness me, it took me 3 sittings to finish the movie. Boring af.
Chris Rock's opening segment Touched quite a few nerves, I see. That ether he delivered to Jada Pinkett Smith, 'her boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties......no one invited you'
Also I quite dislike Sam Smith.

By far. Not even close anymore. Guy was robbed of 4 Oscars and they finally gave him one. Should have 5 now, and 5 more noms.

Not even close, not even top 5. And I'm a big fan of his. But that's just my opinion of course, and you're entitled to yours.

lol you're saying that as if there's a actually a way to judge top 5 actors of all time. It's subjective. If I think Leo is GOAT then he is GOAT for me.
Don't say garbage like that bolded part again, I respect whoever you think is better than him but to spew your opinion as fact, take that bs somewhere else.

Awful event. Nothing worse than self-adulation events of celebrities.

Re: The Oscars 2016 | 88th Academy Awards
Understand why it didn't win but Mad Max is still my favourite film of the year. I am not sure I have walked out of the cinema more blown away than when I walked out of MMFR - that's film for me. But it doesn't really matter, similar to the Duel's of the world, MMFR will stick in peoples minds and will remain a movie great for a long long time.
Glad Leo finally got an Oscar.. Hoping this will give him the freedom to want to take on some more diverse roles that aren't so oscar friendly. I want him to take on interesting roles... Although I enjoyed the Revenant, Hugh Glass was not interesting enough for me.

I remember when the credits rolled on Mad Max, my mate and I looked at each other and were like "if you could, would you change anything about that film?"
"no".
Never happened before or since.

Only time i came out of the cinema saying "holy shit" was Dark Knight rises. But even then as great as that film was, mad max was more mind blowing from start to finish.

George Takei does not accept Academy apology over Asian jokes. While I think an apology was a good first step, Chris Rock still needs to apologize IMO.

The bigger question is why did the Academy even ok a bunch of kids being made fun of in such a way on national TV? Kids working in sweatshops isn't funny by any remote standard, and comparing American kids to them is even less so. Surely there must be quality control?
