Rudi Garcia Sack Watch
Another mission accomplished : knocked out by Spezia in Coppa Italia
Tarquinius Superbus was demonized for a lot less IMO.

A Serie B and Lega Pro club in the quarter finals. Has that happened recently? I think they play each other now.So there will be a Serie B or Lega Pro club in the semis if I read the brackets right.

Yes exactly
Alessandria (they colours are the grey ) knocked out Palermo and Genoa , both away . So now Alessandria Spezia
It is very rare in Italy I follow Serie A since 1997 it's my first time to see this.

Can't wait to see what Dzeko's heatmap looks like for this piss poor display.
Chiesa Di Totti are taking this honestly better than I thought. They are actually thanking Spezia for eliminating us just so we can fire Rudi

Lippi looks like the favorite to replace him if he will be sacked.
Lazio and Roma to fight for the Lippi if they manager will be fired, the saddest derby ever

Re: Rudi Garcia Sack Watch
Why would Roma sack Garcia? They are fifth and in 1/8 finals of the champions league. With their team, they can't really expect to do much better. And they overachieved these previous seasons with Rudi.

Re: Rudi Garcia Sack Watch
Because we're playing like absolute poo? Because Garcia is tactically stubborn, inept and hopeless? Because these players are too afraid to play the the way we know they can play, which is indicative of a lack of managerial leadership?
This team hasn't won a match in over a month. We've scored only like 4 goals in that same span. This is dire and unacceptable for this club, and would be for just about all top flight teams. Not when we've scored over 50 goals in each of Garcia's first 2 seasons. We'll be lucky if we get there this year with how these lads are playing.
I was a huge supporter of Rudi when he came in, but the more tactically inflexible he came when it become apparent that the freshness of his style was getting found out, his lack of a plan B soured me gradually. Ligue 1 fans already knew this about him and were vocal about that with regards to Rudi, but now this is what we're seeing each and every game. He doesn't know how to right the ship and when that happens, you have to bring someone else who does. That's why he's gotta go at this point.

Re: Rudi Garcia Sack Watch
What's the prospect of Claudio Ranieri replacing Rudi Garcia???
It's a good thing that I don't get to watch Roma much these days. They are my favorite in Italy and I have been supporting them since 1996/97.

Re: Rudi Garcia Sack Watch
Roma: Pallotta drops Garcia
By Football Italia staff
Roma President James Pallotta gave his green light to replace Coach Rudi Garcia, who remains oblivious: 'This storm will pass'.
The whirlwind of rumours surrounding the Giallorossi still won't settle down, as the team's result crisis looks like it will inevitably result in a sacking of the Coach.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pallotta himself had a meeting with his directors and asked them to find someone else for the bench.
“Find a solution, this isn't working,” was the essence of the President's message according to the publication, which reports of even harsher terms being used.
The main candidates remain Luciano Spalletti, who was asked about his availability to return to his former club, and Marcelo Bielsa, who was contacted in the last few hours.
The former however is reluctant to sign a contract for six months only and would only be available from Zenit St Petersburg after December 22, while Roma are hoping to have their hands free next summer and attack more ambitious targets, such as Azzurri Coach Antonio Conte. The paper also reported a link with Sassuolo's Eusebio Di Francesco.
Garcia in the meantime showed no signs of nervousness at Roma's Christmas dinner.
“The season isn't over,” he said. “I feel that after the storm, the sun will come out. There will still be good days.”
The Christmas dinner itself was spoiled by the protests of the fans. Sporting director Walter Sabatini left after a mere fifteen minutes, and Gazzetta reports him as saying, “This is no time to cheer.”
---------------------
Poor Rudi....can't tell if he truly is oblivious, delusional or refusing the see the writing on the wall. Given that he's French, can't help, but think this is kinda reminiscent of the behavior Louis XVI showed before he was was sent to the guillotine.
I highly doubt those were Pallotta's exact words honestly. He's not that terse from what I've observed of him, but I could believe that's his sentiment.

Re: Rudi Garcia Sack Watch
Bielsa appears to have jumped in front for replacement choices. He, along with Lippi, are only interested in a 6-month stint to help Roma see out this season and then move on.
Perfect arrangement for us since neither are viable long-term solutions anyway and we want to go after our actual targets.

Re: Rudi Garcia Sack Watch
Yeah he's an attractive option. Sure, he's absolute batshit crazy, but he'll get these players battle-ready and light a fire under their asses, something Rudi just can't seem to do right now. Tactically, I'm a little worried about his penchant for 3-man defenses. I don't think we have the players for that.
Lippi has done next to nothing since leaving Guangzhou Evegrande last year. Not sure that's really a bad thing as he's probably fresh (considering his age I suppose), but I was never a fan of him tactically or as a man manager. He represents the old school way of doing things and I don't think that gells with this relatively young Roma team. Despite him winning everything there is to win in the game, I just don't think he's a good fit for this team, but could get behind him for the remainder of the season as at the very least, he'd bring some stability.
