why does the 4 attacker keep crashing the box as soon as the ball pass the halfway line? zero build up just can't see where the advantage in splitting the team into two in big games .

Yeah that's the mark of bad coaching, players are not working on where they should be according to the position of the ball. No triangulation, to space control, there is nothing, just instinct. FOotball at a high level doesnt work like that, Villarreal are not Malmo

oh but watch us go against mighty teams like malmo or getafe, score 8 and celebrate the "confidence booster" like its ucl....when this team faces the slightest trouble we become extremely clueless. in times like these we only need one guy to step up and pull us out, but the guys are so lukewarm out there its ridiculous. just hope we can get a goal early in the half

Rafa needs to adjust... you can't have 4 guys up the pitch and 4 guys low on defense and hope that 2 CMs can handle the entire middle. Freakin let Benz dezone at least. MAKE James play lower.

How can you play possession football when the front 3 just stay near the opposition defensive line and wait for a through-ball? *bleep* ridiculous. No build-up whatsoever, the front 3 is too static and none of the BBC comes deep.

I know, I've followed some of Napoli's matches under Rafa and the poor build-up was the major issue.

It's not true ffs. Carlo's issue was that he didn't demand depth in the CM spot and injuries destroyed him... nothing tactical at all. He was superb there. Rafa has the CM depth but his tactics are garbage.

benzema picking the wrong game to be missing all these chances ffs come on now.

Wasn't Carlos biggest issue lack of rotation?

Carlo was better than rafa yes, but to th stardards of other teams that play a positional game he was bad

I strongly disagree Nick. We were positionally and tactically superb under Carlo. We just didn't rotate and, thus, were very susceptible to injury and changes in form.

Pepe puts in better crosses than Danilo lol

Of course, being forced to play Bale messes things up a lot regardless of the manager...

that's my point, carlo doesnt know how to coach positional football, never has, not even in madrid. and the difference between a team that is coached to play that way and another that just fields a 433 and play with instinct is wide.

I am not saying we werent playing better im saying our occupation of the pitch even under carlo has been this bad at times

it is for reasons like this i get ashamed when we get happy scorching pathetic teams for 8, yet once again, when push comes to shove and our backs are against the wall, we end up severely lacking....i bet we are hoping the tad lifts our ban against cadiz so we can score 6 against them and mess up against a team that knows what they are doing. i'll give my take on rafa later, he's useless

tito you gotta be kidding stop trying so hard to blame the players, this 424 stuff is awful and some of the most amateurish stuff i have seen in a while, rafa clearly sucks and needs to be sacked, tried to give him a fair shake but he clearly isn't good enough.

benz should have got us a point at least.

You're comparing apples and oranges. PSG looks to inch its way forward... Madrid is looking to hit you with lightning once you get in the final 1/3. It's just completely different philosophies.

In terms of executing within his philosophy, Carlo is superb. I love his tactics. I don't like his rotations.

It doesn't matter if we lose right? All that matters is making Perez happy right?

Play the same stupid formation but no problem he won't get sacked bcz he plays all superstars.

This one is the on the players though. There were a lot of good balls but we didn't take our chances. HOWEVER, we fell behind in the first place because our first half was a tactical disaster.
