Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
Your problem is that you blame James for not being able to play with BBC in a position that is not his natural one.
I blame Rafa for sticking to BBC and playing a player of James' caliber out of position just to keep the heavyweights happy.
Think about that for a second and try to find out who's at fault here, James or Rafa.

It's you that should think about it for a second, neither is a fault. Perez and the club management are, they are the ones making those signings and then leaving it all in the hands of the manager to figure out.
BBC is untouchable, so either James goes to the bench or he plays out of position.

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
Nobody is arguing that - Perez and the club management are behind many problems we're facing today. Here's the part where I blame Rafa for: cowardice. He needs to grow some balls and start doing things his way. He's going to get sacked anyway so why not play by his own rules?
I have no sympathy for cowards who sign contracts just to enjoy the prestige of being the head coach of Real Madrid and doing nothing except nodding along to whatever people upstairs tell them.

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
hey me too i hope one day we have a manager that is courageous enough to bench, the multimillions signings of his boss and keep his job...
so far we are 0 for 2 between Ancelotti, and Benitez. let's cross fingers

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
Actually, James' best position isn't central. He failed miserably at it in Monaco. He didn't play central at Porto either. He thrives when he can start left and come in opportunistically.

This.
Pretty much where he always play for Colombia as well.
Typically it's a 4-4-2 with him on the left and cuadrado on the right.

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
why do you some of guys keep saying BBC? benzema is the only proper CF atm, he is a must and the team always plays better with him.
the problem is and always was bale-cr, both more or less do the same thing, wasteful shots, turnovers, lots of attacking, and zero defending, its one or the other not both, with or without benzema.

The problem isnt just where you play him, it's also how much freedom you are giving him on the pitch

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
The thing is that our shape is just bad. The top of the box is congested... Benz likes it there. So does Bale. So does James. Heck, CR goes there a lot too.
What Carlo did was require gap control by the players where, if a player went central, the others would move to the proper space. Now, once a player goes central, there is no resulting movement.
That's all on the manager. You practice that. We were doing it through last year so there's no reason we shouldn't be able to do it now.

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
Kroos on the bench, looks like he might be the sacrificial lamb after all.
He is cerainly easier to bench then BBC and James. No one will cry about it, it can be a solution.

Line up: Navas; Danilo, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Modric, Casemiro, James; BBC
Not a good descision to start an unfit Ramos. He is going to cost us a goal. Almost certain of that

Kroos is a WC and CL winner. He aint going on no bench long term. They can pretend he was injured for this game but against Valencia he will likely be back in the XI

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
That's because the occupation of the field is terrible. THis was the same under carlo, we keep wanting to play possession footy, and we hire managers who do not know how to play positional football

rafa isn't good enough to coach this team, his tactics are garbage and i told you guys the midfield problems are bigger than kroos and im glad you guys are getting to see it, the organization is horrible, getting tired of watching this rubbish.

Is this Isco's last game of the suspension? He'd be more useful than James right now

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
no... nothing like Carlo. Not even close. Problem with Carlo was that Modric went down and we had nobody to back him up. So he was forced to play Kroos/Isco/whoever was healthy behind BBC. Rafa has a choice. Kroos, Isco, James, Casemiro, Kovacic are all healthy... he gets to pick.
Our shape under Carlo was top notch. Out team composition was messed up because we didn't have enough midfielders on the roster. So the execution only worked when Modric and Kroos were both healthy.

Re: Villarreal vs Real Madrid
Carlo was better at this setup i agree. Benitez is out of his element here.
I am watching PSG and the way they occupy the field compared to us in the same 433 is just ridiculous. We look so bad i almost want to cry. there is no way we will win anything looking like this, doesnt matter how many points barca drop
