Villarreal vs Real Madrid

The first of the two tough games we have left in the first half of the season. They have only lost one game at home which was against the then form team Celta Vigo. If we defend and press like we did qgainst Malmö we will win this easily.

James and Isco combined really well against Malmö, the most in the team iirc too bad they are back to competing for a spot Ramos might be back too which is bad news for us because last time we threw gim in with no match practice he was ar fault for a good 3 goals. Id rather continue with this Pepe-Nacho partnership. The rest of the team picks itself

The way we pressed and defended against Malmo? I couldn't believe it. We were very, very, very good at it. Nobody was lazy and everybody kept doing it with maximum intensity. Why can't we play like that all the time dammit!

I agree about the Pepe-Nacho partnership. BTW Nacho is becoming one of my favorite players on the pitch. He's very calm and composed. Sure he still lacks experience, but he has the potential to develop into a WC defender. He's not hotheaded and he's intelligent which is something our first-choice defenders seem to have lacked in recent years.

Also I totally agree with you on the Isco-James partnership. They both understand each other very well. Field those two, sit back and watch them tear down teams brick by brick.

It's a shame we have BBC, but I'm hoping Rafa will rest one of them so he can play Jamesco.

i expect us to beat villareal. but i don't expect guys pressing like they did malmo, especially playing this tough villareal side away from home. villareal's not malmo, unlike malmo, they've got some good players, i really like the football denis suarez plays (at times), bakambu, ofcourse soldado's going to want to perform. i think they'll play an open game and we'll capitalize via counters; not exactly sure what squad we'll be going with. i don't think rafa is exactly sure neither, but we have the players to beat them so i expect a win....just not the kind we put against the great malmo

LOL, that in a nutshell is what's wrong!!

He should be playing just two of BBC with James and Isco, but likely will go back to BBC which means our balance and defense us suspect.

Watched the first half of their game today. Meh. Their left side is their weakest side. We should be able to capitalise on that

well if rafa doesn't play it too cautious, a win should be in the bag, agreed no ramos starting but he prob will.

Yes but playing against Real Madrid is a whole different thing. It's like teams get doubly excited or something. Remember how Sevilla played against City? Now remember how they played against us? That was in a span of 5 days.

No he absolutely has not, not even close. What Benz is doing this season is better than anything James has done in his career ffs

I dont rate him as much as you guys because he dissapears in big games, plays like an extra forward neglecting his duties as a midfielder and to top it all of runs his mouth like he is entitled to start. How about he walks the talk before he runs his mouth

I love Benz but you are over exaggerating by saying what Benz has done this season is better than what James has done in his career. It's an absolute joke and really no place in an actual discussion.

Bale and James are both needed in the team and both compliment each other. But obviously the team is unbalanced if Ronaldo is on the left.

Justify price tag after one season? I agree he has a lot to prove in Madrid but he's been in good stride and he has far more good games than bad.

It's already been brought up on what he's good at, where's he's poor at, and how we are set up as team just doesn't quite have room to fit him in his preferred position because again with him we get stuck with 4 attackers in the box and the whole tactical discussion behind that. I agree with it all.

It should be James. He is the best fit there and it is also the best available position for him.

Ronaldo and Bale both have their best position on the left so they both cant play together, it shows.

If you say that he's being played out of position and doesn't really fit the way we're set up under Rafa, I might agree with that. Although, the blame in that case would fall solely on Rafa.

But to suggest that James isn't that good? Watch him for god's sake. His passing, vision, intelligence and workrate alone are better than BBC's combined.

We can safely avoid Messi from the conversation.Douglas Costa is damn good there, but he is good every where else. Basically a player we should have signed. Likes Robben there too but that ship has sailed. Reus Is much better than anything we can put on that wing too, though his injuries are a concern but no more concern than bales injuries. Willian has been fantastic there this season and he could provide something to us, especially if we are playing with CR.

Your problem is that you blame James for not being able to play with BBC in a position that is not his natural one.

I blame Rafa for sticking to BBC and playing a player of James' caliber out of position just to keep the heavyweights happy.

Think about that for a second and try to find out who's at fault here, James or Rafa.
