Re: Manga and Anime
Dragon Ball Z is arguably one of the worst popular animes out there.
Can't believe people watch it. It's so bad that i laugh like 90% of the time.

Re: Manga and Anime
majority of fans were from when they were kids, I liked it when I was like 8, not watched it in like 17 years, just a generic battle anime

Kimi No na Wa
some minor plot holes aside it's a really enjoyable movie, can clearly see how he incorporated parts from all of his previous works into it, I see why it was so successful and more appealing to a broader audience than his other stuff which was more niche 9/10

Not sure if this has been shared before, but I though this was a really interesting video on the decline of Bleach:

Re: Manga and Anime
Its really sad Jay because i was one to start reading it ever since it first came out, he has valid points on that repetition of arcs. By the time the Aizen Arc finished i felt like i was done, but kept reading anyway because of like i said, stuck with it since the beginning. It was depressing reading it after that.
Its one of the few mangas, along OP and Naruto that i really started out with (like every other kid lol). On a tangent here, but i used to read for escapism, nothing to do with preteen growing into adolescent life stuff. I really just was depressed with life, school and such, and my light was going back home to read these. It was very personal experience, now that i'm older i can't replicate that feeling, part of the reason i've declined in my manga reading. I'm sure my list shorter than most of y'alls, but still i try to read new stuff every now and then to no avail.
Anyways, mini diary over, but Bleach will always have a special place in my heart, even if it did suck later on

Bleach was one of my first anime, too. Along with Naruto, funnily enough. I didn't even consider the stuff the video bought up but around the Hueco Mundo arc my interest waned, probably because things just dragged and dragged and I barely understood what was happening. I caught the finale in Aizen and then couldn't give two shits about anything afterwards. For me, Aizen being beaten and Ichigo giving up his powers just felt like a natural conclusion to the story. I wasn't interested in anything further.
The Soul Society arc still remains one of my favourite arcs in anime, though.

how much of the series have you read/watched btw? all of it?
it's one of the very few where I would recommend to people to watch rather than read, unbelievably faithful adaption that adapted everything from the manga and the OST and voice acting only enhanced the tone of the series, the studio that adapted it were huge fans.

Boruto is Nartuo's son They did a film about him then decided to make a TV anime for it since Shippuden finally ended. No doubt Boruto will be extremely long and full of filler as well.

Re: Manga and Anime
My first foray into anime territory. Finished watching Death Note. GOAT! Absolutely epic. Which should I go for next guys? I am so into anime now. Gimme more.
Dat Americanised live action version of DN is looking atrocious tho.
Should have gone for Ezra Miller and Jesse Eisenberg as Light and L respectively. Idiots.

As soon as I read the first sentence I was gonna suggest Death Note
My 2 first suggestions for anyone wanting to get into anime are Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Both are on Netflix (maybe it depends on where you are?).
FMA:B is absolutely epic and has big production values, top animation, HD, etc. Maybe my favorite anime series of all time.
These 2 series would set the bar really high for anything after them though.

Re: Manga and Anime
Whatever you do, do not watch Code Geass after Death Note.
Some folks suggested Code Geass to me as a natural progression from DN. What a waste of 2 weeks that was.
You could watch Stein's Gate. It has a slower narrative at the start, but some good time-travel fun in it.

@rincon and @Pep points noted. Thanks.
I have One punch man with me. I prefer a different type of anime now that DN is over. A light hearted fun one would do. So, may be I will give one punch a try.
More inputs are welcome. Cheers.

Re: Manga and Anime
watch Psycho Pass, Ping Pong (might be too early for you to jump into something as 'out there' as this) or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (the first part, which is the first 8-9 eps IIRC aren't really what the series becomes) it's one of the GOAT anime atm

Yea give One Punch man a go. Not long either and really fun to watch. Others are quite dark and heavy so you have time for those later on.
