Goes sleeping defensively as well, the chance Olson had where Norwich opened us up. He just let Olson go past him without tracking him back.

Really think I need to take a break from Arsenal. Need some peace in life. Been under shitloads of stress the last few weeks - Arsenal playing such wonderful football isn't helping. Nor are all the injuries.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
Well what else can we say about that? It wasn't good enough, it's yet another chance to gain ground on the teams above us wasted, and we've lost two more players to injuries just when two came back.
West Brom, Norwich, Sunderland and Aston Villa. The crap of the league. I identified this run as a 12 point run. So far, we've gotten 1 point.
We were in control of the game for 40 minutes. Got the goal, making the chances, Norwich hardly a threat. Then we go all Arsenal and concede a totally soft, needless goal, let the opposition back in, then proceed to leave our balls in the changing room at half-time. By the end of the game we were relying on putting in crosses for Giroud. What happened to the football we were playing earlier in the game?
Every year it gets like this. It'd the old Arsenal Rollercoaster coming back into play. Start the season well, become hopeful, then watch it all collapse as the squad implodes because of injury. And even with injuries we should be beating teams like West Brom and Norwich.
Ox and Campbell contributed nothing when they came on. These are the guys that are meant to come on and change the dynamic of the game. It doesn't bode well at all.

just *bleep*, more enjoyable watching Parma in Serie D, playing like dog shat that's what we are. Lost in every *bleep* thing, Ozil bailed us out big time.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
Typical Arsenal away performance, so frustrating because the league is so open yet we are performing like a mid table team even Speeerz have look more like title contenders than us lately. The sloppy goals we give away when are leading are just unacceptable for a team that wants to challenge for the league.
The second half was just embarrassing, Norwich outfought and outplayed us in that half. We badly missed Coquelin, Santi can''t run, tackle, cover ground. He is amazing technically but in other facets of the game he struggles a lot. We got overrun in midfield and he left Flamini alone to cope with everything.
I can't see anything less than a top four fight after this unfortunately, as usual injuries have ruined another season. We can sit here and blame injuries but the teams we had out against West brom and Norwich today should have been enough to bring the 3 points. So worries about our attack without Alexis, We looked so toothless when went off, even a 50% fit Alexis gives us another dimension in front of goals.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
We missed having an option like Walcott who's first thought isn't to come towards the ball all the time, and someone who will actually move about looking for space. Giroud spent that whole second half standing in the centre of the box wanting a cross on his head, surrounded by Norwich defenders.
The service from the fullbacks tonight was poor too. Fullbacks are potential difference makers in games when you're struggling for chances. Bellerin in particular was awful in the final third. Honestly I think Bellerin should have a break but knowing the backup option is Debuchy...
The more games like this we have, the more it seems the squad could use an overhaul. And a new manager, but I won't get into that right now.

Lot let me down but I'll take dropped points since Spurs did too.
Thankfully I had Ozil as captain and he's the boi so he got a goal. Did enough for me to seal another fantasy win

He also said the players were "a bit jaded".
Only Arsenal could be tired three months into a season.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
Well when we inevitably finish 4th (watch Liverpool/Spurs/Chelsea finish above us). There will be no more excuses left for anyone. All signs will eventually point out to the manager and coaching.
Injuries? Management
Lack of preparation? Management
players 'jaded'? Coaching
Poor tactics? Management
Lack of transfers? Management
Players not understanding the importance of a match? Management
Obviously I can't hate Wenger or even start a campaign against him. But I fully realise and admit that his flaws which were masked over the years are increasing and in the end there is nothing left but to point fingers at him.
He is like my favourite tv show TWD. Eventhough it can be shit, i still love it.
At this point I hope this is his last season (unless obviously we win the league). We will never get a better chance at winning the league again and we are not even remotely interested in doing that.
Unfortunately Pep seems to be going after another easy option in City rather than come at Arsenal.

Honestly even if we somehow won the league (which isn't impossible because nobody is good this year) I wouldn't want him to sign a new deal. I strongly feel we need a fresh start and the games against Spurs, WBA and Norwich just reminded me of the reasons why I feel that way.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
Yea agreed.
But it's the fear of the unknown which worries me. Life after Wenger?
Admittedly we are in a great position to allow the next manager to settle in comfortably as we have money, top players and resources. But I am worried about signing someone who takes us back rather than forward.
We need a hybrid of 'Attacking philosophy, young and established' Someone like Pep basically.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
We need Carlo Ancelotti.
Though it would be awkward between him and Özil
Carlo would be a great choice though, he is loved by his players, would continue to keep Arsenal an attractive club for new signings and knows how to balance a team between attack and defence. His record in the CL is fantastic which with us never winning it is hugely important.

Ancelotti is a great coach though he has a history of not rotating his squad which effects league performance. Before we start thinking about Europe we need to get back to winning league titles.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
Who is a long term option though? You mentioned Guardiola, but he is not that either.
And why long term? Don't you think it's time for us to behave like the rest of the big clubs?

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
There are no 'long term options' with managers.
That whole concept is very confused IMO
You don't employ a manager for the 'long term' (assuming that term means more than 3-4 years).
You employ a manager, and if he does good work and continues to do good work, he can stay as long as he wants, and as long as it works.
That's it.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
There hasn't been an era for the long term manager in quite some times. I think most clubs now hire with the first two to three years in mind and then either retain their manager or move on depending on his success.
It'll be a couple of years before the time comes, anyway, so Ancelotti likely won't be available. Who knows who'll be available by then.

Wenger on Alexis…
The players are there to play football and not to be rested when the press decides they need to be rested.

Wenger will not retired this year, and like he always says, he will honer his contract...like he is doing us a favor.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal PL 15/16
Personally not a fan of having managers for 2-3 years and then changing things again. Unless we develop a barcelona model where we hire managers based on the style we want to see at Arsenal, it really isn't ideal to keep changing managers every few years and starting all over from scratch.
Of course it doesn't mean we give a manager 4 years and he is barely doing anything. But ideally we need to hire a manager who can be successful and wants to be a part of Arsenal. Not a journey man.
