Re: Winter Window
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of defender Steven Caulker on loan from QPR until the end of the season.
The club have announced the relevant paperwork has been completed in time to allow the centre-back to be eligible for selection for the visit of Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
good move by the club imo. didn't just blow ££ on a panic buy and if the lad proves to be a good player for us we will make the move permenent

That was quick and efficient.
Game just got all the more difficult for us, assuming he goes right in.

Good stopgap, but I wonder how would people have reacted had Rodgers made this signing?
We have been constantly linked to him these past couple of years.

Would honestly rather recall Jordan Williams and Lloyd Jones and give them minutes over signing scrub like Caulker even if it is a stop gap.
Meh.
Meh.

I thought Kloppo was a genius in the transfer market and our saviour? Maybe let him do his work without all the negativity.

Re: Winter Window
Klopp would never have signed this guy if we didn't have injury crisis. I'm of the opinion that he most likely didn't want any signings his first and just wanted to see what our current players were capable of.

Re: Winter Window
I agree, but he is still the guy with the last say (as he openly admitted to the press). So the Caulker signing, emergency or not, is still on him. With that in mind he obviously thinks that, regardless of the term, Caulker can provide some value to the team. Let's hope he's right.

Not sure how reliable that paper is, but I would welcome Praet.

Let's judge the kid from 1 game where he was injured and he didn't have match sharpness as he hasn't played any football this season.
Also reading we've got Matip in the bag. That's much better news

LIVERPOOL AGREE MATIP DEAL
Liverpool have agreed a deal to bring Cameroon international Joel Matip on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to Sky sources.
There are still details to be ironed out regarding the 24-year-old Schalke man before the move becomes official, however.

Supposedly Allan going back out on loan to Sint-Truiden. That would be a great, great place for him to go on loan IMO. I doubt he'll have the same kind of impact he had in Finland, but playing in the JPL would be a big step up and good place to learn.

LIVERPOOL'S ODEGAARD BID REJECTED
Liverpool have seen an offer to take Real Madrid's attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard on loan until the end of the season turned down by the La Liga club, according to reports in Marca.
The Spanish sports daily says Los Blancos want to keep the Norway international, 17, at the Santiago Bernabeu until he is ready for first-team action.

Liverpool could raid Southampton for yet another player after being linked with a move for their Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long, with the 28-year-old valued around the £8m mark.
The Sun claims that Long has been identified by Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp as a potential January transfer target, with the German considering a move to bring in cover for injured striker Danny Ings who will not play again this season after suffering a serious knee ligament injury in October.

Re: Winter Window
LIVERPOOL MONITOR WILLIAMS
Liverpool are monitoring Athletic Bilbao’s forward Inaki Williams, according to The Guardian.
The 21-year-old striker, who is understood to have a €20million release clause in his contract at the San Mames, has also attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
However, with the Madrid clubs facing a two-window transfer ban, failure to get a deal through before the end of this window could result in Jurgen Klopp facing little competition to bolster his attacking options at Anfield.
Williams has scored 10 goals for Bilbao this season and the Basque club are reluctant to let him leave and will demand the transfer fee up front in full before doing business.

Apart from full-backs, we should ship people out before bringing more in, imo.

Re: Winter Window
some good news. Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a fresh contract extension at Melwood today.

Re: Winter Window
Every statistic, eye test and basically every fan points to needing a better keeper than Mignolet. Guess we should probably give him a 5 year extension.
