Re: Mahrez for POTY
It's funny when people keep on the myth that Oezil has no stamina or he does no running or tracking back etc etc
There is only one player in our squad who has outrun Oezil this season. Monreal.
Besides him he is running more than any other including Sanchez who he averages about a km more in running a game
Hardly lazy

If Leicester make it to the CL I'd really really really like to see Mahrez stay at Leicester, even though he's bound to attract interest in the summer. I also think he'll go to a more attractive club than us if he moves.

Re: Mahrez for POTY
I doubt he would want to take a step down.
We would be lucky to get Mahrez tbf. Better clubs will come running for him and meanwhile we'll be busy scouting obscure, overhyped talents.
The only way I see him staying at Leicester is if they win the PL.. I may be wrong though.

Realistically, where can he go and be sure to play ? the only options I see are Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea ..

Should loan Oxlade for a season tbh. I am sure he would do great in a club like Milan or Valencia

No need for him to move anywhere if Leicester win the league imo.

Can't see Leicester selling him if they make the CL. Especially not to a club that won't make the CL either. Considering their funds, if they make the CL, I expect them to splash it and keep their best players.

Thats not how the players would think tho.Once a big club approaches them, they're out of here first sight.
Mahrez is 24/25 and Vardy is 28.Both would be wanting to play at a bigger club pretty soon.

Yeah not happening, when was the last time a small team qualified for Europe of any kind and kept their players? Big teams will circle around them like the vultures they are and swoop all they want.
Players would rather play for Liverpool and Yanited in EL than Leicester in the CL anyway.

I hope we don't sign Mahrez, yet at least. Let him do this for another *bleep* season first.
I'm just very very spectacle at this point about one season wonders.

Re: Mahrez for POTY
At the end of the day they are under contract and if the club doesn't want to sell the player stays. In any case I think some players would prefer to stay, play in the CL and compete for the title than go to a mid-table team like Liverpool/United/Chelsea and simply earn more money. Not sure if these two are that, but they could be persuaded, especially with a better contract.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:BarrileteCosmico wrote:Can't see Leicester selling him if they make the CL. Re: Mahrez for POTY
For 99% of players a step up simply means more money. If you're on, I don't know, 30k per week at Leicester and someone offers you 130k per week, it's only understandable that you want the switch, doesn't really matter then what the situation with European competitions for one season is.
Anyway, I hope Leicester refuse to sell if they make the CL, I'd like to think Mahrez would be OK with that if he's promised that he'll be allowed to leave the next summer.

It's true. Difference is that 'small' PL clubs now have neough money to offer their top players decent wages too, or someone like Mahrez a short term raise to close to what he'd get elsewhere if he agrees to stay another season.

Re: Mahrez for POTY
Mahrez is 25 and Algerian. He'd want to make a step up to a big club asap given the opportunity.
That way he can become a hugely popular figure in his country(than he already is) and worldwide as well.Well, thats what the Japanese do anyway.

Re: Mahrez for POTY
That elastico nutmeg and then assist. Wow.
That's some of the stuff only the goats does . surprised to find it in EPL. A big club should take their chance with him imo. Lot of clubs have money now so waiting another year to judge him may not be the most logical choice. He will be gone by next summer.

Yes, well, it's nicely balanced. If Leicester make the CL - as is looking likely by now - they'd hate to let him go. On the other hand Mahrez's value is sky high right now. If a club offers him 100k per week this summer but Leicester refuse to sell, Mahrez will have to do it all over again next season or in 2017 someone will offer him only, say 60k per week.
Tottenham were willing to pay something like £20m for Berahino last summer and probably give him a nice salary, too. Now I can't think anyone would offer the same, since he hasn't been playing and hasn't had his last season form when he's been playing.
Mahrez would no doubt like to bounce on a good offer now that his stock is high, but we'll see what Leicester do. I think they might offer him a new contract with financial incentives and in return be willing to add a buy-out clause to the contract. So, Mahrez would make more money at Leicester, but also be guaranteed a transfer if someone meets the buy-out clause.

Re: Mahrez for POTY
Brilliant player. Excellent delivery from the wing, great passing and vision, goes past people at will, has an excellent shot from range and a very composed finish on him with both feet. Seems to have it all. He's having a Suarez-esque season.

Ok, i didn't agree at the time. But fact is his team has gone on where as everyone else has fallen to pieces.
It's unanimous at this point.
