I don't even want Charlie Austin lol, infact i have been desperate for him to be snapped up by someone all summer so we don't get him.

I don't believe for one second that Wenger "doesn't see" the need for a striker. He only wants what he feels would be an improvement over what he has; he doesn't want a Chamakh.

The danger here is giving too much attention to the short-term. We don't want to bloat the squad with average players because we know full well how difficult it can be to move those players on.

The options aren't great, even as a stop-gap solution. Llorente doesn't give you anything different to Giroud, Austin is a penalty box player and would struggle in our set-up, likewise Hernandez, Berahino is a better fit but has had one good season and would be very expensive... and I'm not sure who else we could get at this late stage.

We don't have a year to wait around for him to mature.

Austin has had a very good scoring record everywhere he's played but that's still asking a bit much of a QPR star to lead us to the title. Sanogo also has, as Wenger called it, a 'scary' goal tally outside of his Arsenal apps.

I wouldn't mind signing a player who isn't a clear upgrade but is at least different to what we currently have. A striker with mobility would be nice.

That's beside the point, we need a striker so we have to get the best on the market since we have the money. Anything else makes no sense.

Internal solutions or whatever crap Wenger is serving us, I don't believe it. Walcott was in the form of his life before getting benched by Giroud for no reason and Akpom was promised to be included in our squad before being shipped off to Hull City. I supported both (and Welbeck aswell) to become our starting striker but clearly Wenger won't be persuased unless it's a new signing.

If you want a name, Gonzalo Higuain, he has a release clause, we have the money, better than all our strikers and he would be interested to join us. Sign him and we have considerably improved our squad.
