OM quietly assembling nothing
Most of our best players of the last 2 years are gone (Valbuena, Ayew brothers, Gignac and Payet)... replaced them with completely unproven kids although talented.
We'll be lucky to finish 4th again... and that's only because Bielsa knows what he's doing. Otherwise, i would guess 7-10.

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
I suppose missing out on the Champions League hurt them pretty bad.
Which one should I choose for PL fantasy football, Ayew or Payet?

Payet would be my guess Art, think he'll score more.

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
Moal, I expect Ayew to do better than Payet. Not only do I think he's better than Payet but also because he'll play for Swansea who actually attempt to play football unlike West Ham. Have to wait and see what Bilic is looking to implement.

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
Ligue 1 clubs are always selling/rebuilding. It's very telling that a club like West Ham can offer more to Payet than OM ( they wanted him to stay but they didn't have the $$ ).

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
Payet was one thing, but they also lost Gignac and Ayew in the same window. Losing three attacking players from your starting eleven is pretty drastic.
If they really aren't replacing them with anything else than potential future starts, maybe they have knowingly taken a strategy that doesn't aim at a CL-spot finish for this season. Or are banking on Ligue 1 to be a bit shit

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
they also lost their starting left back ( Morel ) and will probably lose an important CB in N'koulou .
replacing what they lost can only be done in 2 or 3 transfer windows , no way they'll fix the team this summer .

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
N'Koulou said he's staying and seeing out his contract, not that it helps considering he'll be available for *bleep* all next summer.

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
They wanted Gignac and Ayew gone last summer tbh... with Batshuayi as the CF... and Alessandrini, Thauvin and Ocampos wide.
OM and Monaco are trying to be Porto/Benfica. Monaco is currently doing a much better job because their president is not a retard.

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
Can anyone show me a possible starting formula for OM based on the "alleged actual form" of the players?
I lost rhythm with football world in the past year due to the busy schedule and I want to form an legitimate idea about the current situation from several championships and several teams.

Re: OM quietly assembling nothing
Keeper: Mandanda
Defense: Dje Dje - Nkoulou - Rekik - Mendy
Midfield: 2 of Romao, Lemina and Nkoudou
AM: Thauvin with Barrada as the backup
Wings: Alessandrini and Ocampos
CF: Batchuayi
Talented, but mostly very young. Bielsa is recruiting a bunch of Argentinians so i expect 2-3 to join in the next month.

Only thing I remember about Slave Bilic is his tears in Euro 2008 after that hilarious 95th minute equalizer by Turkey after which it went to pens and Croatia lost.
