City quietly assembling another great team
They've sorted out their homegrown problems by signing both the best U-18 English prospect in Patrick Roberts & U-23 in Raheem Sterling. Delph isn't special but should be a great squad player for them. They also have 3 great youngsters from their EDS squad ready for the first team. Denayer & Rony Lopes both impressed on their loan at Celtic & Lille respectively, Denayer in particular looks like the next Kompany in the making & recently made his Belgium NT debut. They also have a gem in Kelechi Iheanacho who looks nailed on to be the next African superstar. Excellent scouting by them.
I think if they complete the rumoured De Bruyne & Fabinho deals they're nailed on for the title next season & KDB should fire them past the Round of 16.
Not a single team in the Premier League can match up to that front 6.

Aguero
Sterling De Bruyne Silva

Spending 100M+ on 2 new attackers, yep that's so under the radar practically nobody at City bar the owner knows it's happening.

Lol still there defense has got kompany, clichy and mangala. They will win probably all their home games if they sign de bruyne too. But will struggle yet again in away games when teams have a go at them.
Agree though that they are a top 2 material and closest chelsea rival.

With all the quiet assembling going on here, you'd think Man City was actually your local library's scrapbook club.

Correct if I'm wrong, but the actual scouting for Kelechi was done by a whole lot of clubs only for City to intervene, throw wonga and get the deal done.
Most of their signings are those whose scouting has already been done by some other club.

If we only had a penny for each time Gil did his hyping, we'd probably own Qatar Foundation by now, and Roman Abramovic while we're at it.

City has a strong team already. They just need players to be healthy/not jaded.

With Otamendi and Kompany on form that team is ridiculously good. I will be shocked if they don't make the CL semis.

Need to improve their fullbacks and Kompany. And need another CM. And then the can make some noise in CL.
Otherwise, same shit different year.

Agreed. Chelsea still have a better team and much more experience at the top level. Better defense and midfield while in attack they come short compared to City but they have the best player in the league in Hazard who can make great difference. Add to that a much better manager in Mourinho. The title is Chelsea's to lose

Which fullbacks they need to improve? Kolarov + Clichy and Zabaleta + Sagna all rotating is fine imo. We came 2nd with Flanagan, Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho. Chelsea won the title by playing a slow CB at RB and a RB at LB who doesn't pass the halfway line to save his life.
They better spend their $$ on more important things than fullbacks.

Maybe in fifa.
In real life he's become the most overrated player in the world. Couldn't touch Joe Cole in his prime yet goes around as one of the best players to ever play at the Bridge. Joke.

Re: City quietly assembling another great team
Hazard is a great player, but he's definitely not better than Aguero. Not even clearly better than Silva, IMO.

For this year they are more than fine with their defense. Actually I'd argue that it's one of the best of the league. Kompany is coming back strong after suffering last year Zabaleta+Sagna are solid.
