Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
There’s no aim-down-sights to be found in first-person, just a reticule in the center of the screen that feels more like classic Battlefront than DICE’s Battlefield. At one point, the trooper picks up a heavy duty sniper blaster and scopes in. At another point, he switches from first-person view to third-person and runs around hip-firing his blaster rifle. Like Battlefront 2, this game will allow for switching between first-person and third-person at any time.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
Additional Info:
The best part of Battlefront is gone.
-Has two player splitscreen
-It sounds like there isn't a traditional campaign and something more akin to spec-ops from CoD
-Modes vary from 8 players to 40 players
-No ADS
-You can toggle between first and third person
-There's flyable vehicles but no space battles
-The 7 minute demo was on PS4, but there's no mention of the forthcoming trailer platform
The best part of Battlefront is gone.

No, don't give me that bullcrap about looking for something to complain about as if any complaints aren't legitimate. The best part of Battlefront, apart from playing as the heros of course(Based Darth Maul), was the space combat, it was phenomenal.
Nothing beats piloting the Rebel Alliance X-Wing and blowing the Galactic Capital ship to bits, than boarding the Capital ship and sabotaging it from the inside with bombs and weapons in order to bring it down. Having to prevent enemy players from doing the same to you was just as fun, because if they took down the shield barrier then you were royally screwed.
The way that you could use Space combat in the Galactic Conquest mode order to delay the enemy fleet from progressing into your territory was amazing, you could just bog them down in constant space battles by sieging their planets with your fleets, whilst another other fleet took a back route and your ground troops conquered their undefended planets. It would all culminate in an epic final space+ground planet combo on their home world. Phenomenal stuff.
The way that space combat was implemented was just amazing, it was a great time of gaming, it's omission is a f**king huge loss. This is Star Wars, space battles are a must.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
I actually didn't like the space battles nearly as much as the fights on the planets
And after reading that I haven't been this turned on since... well it ended with 3 dead hookers in my room and 2 in the back of my car.
So yeah, do want

The ground battles were good, though I'm not sure how much of that was due to the heros, but they should be decent in this game. It is going to be funny though, watching people who are so used to using ADS struggle without it, it will probably look like my 12 year old COD obsessed cousin trying to play Halo 2, hilarity will ensue.

Think it has GOAT potential, as long as maps are legit and big, with loads of star wars style floating vehicles and shit
Still remember BF 2 jacking one of those AT Walker things and fckin shit up

I understand the feeling Jonathan, my thought process is though it's not like the aerial combat isn't going to exist. If it was just infantry stuff i'd agree but i'm not really bothered by it.
Still going to be some intense aerial shit.

I've been watching the livestream waiting for the gameplay trailer but all they showed was an in engine one. Did I miss it?
Fair enough man, but it feels like massive step back not to have a feature so synonymous with the franchise in the next game. The aerial combat better be good.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
They said they are showing off gameplay at the event.....
Hopefully somebody leaks it Yeah i'm disappointed about that as well, was under the impression that this was going to be a gameplay reveal and not a " in engine " trailer.
News being leaked practically means i know what to expect now but i actually want to see it.
E3 it is i suppose.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
So random question, I am excited about this game, extremely.
but my favorite game from the starwars franchise was the KOTOR series..
do any of you believe they'll possibly continue this game now with starwars being more relevant?

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
EA have said there is multiple star wars projects in development and considering there's a 10 year deal to make Star Wars games I'd like to think it's very possible.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
EA is also Bioware though and Bioware made the KOTOR games, so I do believe it will happen.
As of right now all we know for sure is Battlefront and the game Visceral is working on which is headed up by an ex naughty dog head.
I think it's save to assume though that Star Wars games are going to be a big part of EAs library over the next decade.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
Anyway i just looked and apparently Bioware are currently working on a new Mass Effect and an "untitled Star Wars project"
I know everyone hates EA but let's be honest they do have some very good development teams that are owned by them.
Dice, Bioware and Visceral just to name 3 and i have confidence in all 3 of those studios to make good games, EA wouldn't actually be making the games they would be the publisher.
The only time EA's ineptitude comes into play is for things like DLC as they could bullshit the consumer with some shit money making schemes.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
i just have been disappointed a lot by EA that i try to have a very low expectation when it comes to their games.
and yeah the game will prob cost 50 or something dollars, but realistically gotta spend an extra 20 or 40 for all the dlc.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
EA can ruin games too. They forced Bioware to make Dragon Age 2 more "accessible" and that ruined the game and almost the entire franchise.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront
Eh, I trust EA with this imo.
Was hoping for actual gameplay in that trailer, but am cynical enough considering that this is still 7 months away from actual launch to not be too disappointed that this was more of a teaser than an actual trailer.
