Robinho
I wasnt a football fan in the years Robinho played for RM,so i decided to watch some videos of him in RM.I dont get it,why do people hate him so much?he seemed to perform well and pretty much destroyed barca.
why is it that people call him flop and etc ?I mean,he did win trophies everywhere hes been.(except Man C,for obvious reasons)

Re: Robinho
Ummm I wouldn't call him a flop here, he was inconsistent for the most part though but did show glimpses of brilliance... I always liked him and wanted him to stay.. Maybe people call him a flop because he didn't live up to his hype for us, he was expected to be like top 5 in the world, not just very good
When Ronaldinho was the go to guy for Barca I actually thought Robinho was better than Messi lol

Re: Robinho
Robinho's problem was wastefulness. It would drive you crazy that he couldn't hit the side of a barn from a meter away if it meant scoring a goal... That was and remains the frustration with him. He also played no defense.
What happened with Robinho was that he was being played as a pawn in a political game. Unlike Benzema this past year, he lashed out. Once that happened, he pretty much had to leave.
I liked him and thought he brought a lot of energy to the field. We just had a lot of shenanigans at Madrid in those days and he didn't handle it well.

I think he was a pretty good player and was sad that we lost him. He also had a really nice first season in England but his attitude got him in trouble which ruined his second season.

Re: Robinho
I've said it before but Robinho played good for us. It was never his fault but ours to why he became what he became. We handled him very bad.

Re: Robinho
Youtube makes anyone look good
asides from that, I was able to watch all of Robinhos career with us. He was a good player, a lot of memories of him, but he became very angry when he was tried to use as a makeweight in Clownderons transfer of CR
He handled his transfer to city very bad, almost as bad as we handled him as a player
Hence most madridistas are bitter about him

Re: Robinho
Had Robinho moved to Chelsea he probably would have succeeded, but he picked Man City instead. Chelsea had a great structure at that time where he could have been their missing link to becoming a complete side, Man City on the other hand were still building and with a severe lack of direction I might add.
Robinho was performed really well with Raul and RvN in the Schuster season, where to me at least, I think he has still not produced form as good as that too this day. It was a shame to see him go, but thats just the way it goes. I never considered him a flop playing for us, even though as sportsczy says, he was quite inconsistent.

He did look good for us at times but I found after his dribbling etc (actually Ronaldo feints are very similar), he had a very weak shot (yet if he had lots of time he actually had a decent shot). It was always a mistery to me. When he played for Brasil, his shots were good!! go figure. Anyways his problems here was he couldn't take it when the club was interested in Robinho. He thought he was going to the best player in the wortld and demanded Madrid treat him as such and ended up leaving on por terms. The statement of him being a flop is more with his time with City. He got off to a good start but never came close to the level he thought he was. Eventually they dropped him from starting and then eventually the loans and sale. At Milan he is just a second level winger. So his best times have been with Brasil and then secondly at Madrid. He's not finished at 27, but he's not likely to get any better. Let's just hope that Neymar is not another Robinho (nor Ronaldinho).

Re: Robinho
have to take all executive orders during the calderon era with a grain of salt.
robinho was/is a great player. for us he was a bit inconsistent, but still a quality player. i was a big fan before all the feathers started to ruffle and the transfer requests etc.

Re: Robinho
I've said it before...
If madrid kept Robinho, we would not have been killed by Barca for the last couple years.
And robinho would've been better than messi IMO.
He ruined his career leaving here. He was our best player in 08 and was looking really promising. Suits the spanish game perfectly too.

Great player with massive potential.
Calderon treated him terribly, so I cannot blame him how he left

I'm not a fan of Calderon, but you are blaming him for Robinho's departure. He did it himself. He thought he was equal to Ronaldo and couldn't accept that they would bring CR7 in (and he would either be sold or have to accept a substitute role). He demanded to leave even though Ronaldo didn't come until a year later. It wasn't Calderon, it was Robinho's inflated opinion of himself.
If you want to think of club business decison ( to bring one expensive player you have to sell one) then that's the club's philosophy not just the president. That's what happened with Robbin and Syneider when Kaka and Ronaldo came. The former was injured half the time and the latter had just come off a very modest off season.
