Pacquaio's surgery will take 9 months i heard to recover from, if this is to happen it will happen April-June time i reckon next year.

Don't know how legit those were, but I read that Floyd really does want to fight Khan at Wembley. He wants a September match but Khan can't train properly for that because of Ramadan.

The only reason he wants to fight Khan is because both him and his dad thinks Khan would be the easiest fight Floyd has had in years.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Calling this right now.... if Khan fight happens, Floyd will win but Khan will cause him more problems than Pacquaio because of his jab and his ability to fight off the back foot.
Not to be confused though, Khan is a scrub but his skillsets and overall style is more problematic for Floyd.

Fight Pacman again
That better be free, who would be stupid enough to pay for that again? Floyd's own damn father told you before the fight, your wasting your money.
I agree with Mole, Khan would give him more problems. Actually Khan would be his hardest fight since Cotto.

That's the thing. Fighting Pacman again would mean 200m more in his pocket before retirement.

Doubt it tbh, no one is paying the money for that fight to be as huge again.

I think Manny should be the one to fight Khan, now that would be a really intresting fight.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Manny will have similar reach problems against Khan as well. Think Khan can really beat him. He is faster than him and his recent change of style has made him more defensively responsible. But it will be an exciting fight. Both are similar-ish. Both *could* end up in a brawl towards the end.
If Khan was still trained by Roach then Paquiao would beat him without a doubt. But under Virgil, IMO khan could win this.

I agree, the only problem though is there is a big question mark on if Khan can stand up to a Manny left hand. Khan has all the tools to beat him and could have a perfect gameplan, but one Manny left hand and it falls apart if Khan cant take it.
Manny doesnt knock out anyone these days, but he does hurt them.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
I been hearing boxing is dead since I was 10 years old and I have heard even older people saying they heard it since they began watching too.
As for the fight being boring. Its the fans fault. I agree with Paulie Malinagi.
It was the fans who hyped Manny up and told everyone how great he is, how he is better than Floyd, how he would knock Floyd out, how Floyd is scared...they created the myth and thats why the same fans are so upset now, they had their entire hopes pinned on this one guy to do the job. Meanwhile, alot, if not most boxing people told you Manny wasnt the guy for it and Floyd would dispatch him like all the others.
Of course the fight didnt meet expectations to those fans.
The boxing "purists" as the article said saw this fight going this way and expected pretty much what we saw.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Floyd Mayweather is a technically brilliant fighter who starts defensively, piles up points, waits for the other fighter to tire, and does the minimum necessary to win in later rounds.
Wish this crap would stop being spieled all over the place, amount of people who get paid to write uninformed bullshit is insane.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
You know what I find funny. How Floyd is seen as a defensive fighter who dont throw any punches while Manny is the KO artist offensive juggernaut...and yet their career KO % is 3% apart.
Its as if Floyd's career has only lasted the previous 5 years while Manny's last 5 years didnt happen

You know what I find even funnier is how Floyd attempted and landed more punches than Manny in the actual fight

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
I agree.
Floyd dominates fights because he controls the range when he is on the defence, he knows when you cant hit him. And on offence he stands in the middle of the ring and relies on being first to fire off because the opponent is afraid of getting countered.
Khan's jab will mean Floyd cant control the distance. That is the way to beat Floyd in my opinion, you need a bigger guy with a jab. All the big guys he fights, they dont throw the jab. Khan would.
The issue which stops Khan winning the fight though is the big bright lights. We know Khan...he gets hurt, he cant take a punch. And when he does get hurt, he goes into hero mode and his gameplan goes out the window.
Just like the Garcia fight, he was controlling it, he got clocked and then the gameplan went out the window.
Also Floyd is a very rough and at times dirty fighter, I could see him leaning on Khan, pushing him, elbowing him, holding him and making it a dog fight. Just like Peterson did.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Why is Anthony Josua still fighting school kids
What a monster.
2nd round KO
I know they are trying to make him step up steadily but I badly want to see if he can actually do this at a higher level. Hope he is not another Price (Highly doubt it).
