Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Kovacic won't cost an arm and a leg. Inter are looking at somewhere higher than €20m probably around €25m mark which considering the exchange rate at the moment between the British pound and the Euro is probably the best time to do business around Europe. That's around £18m which most likely should get the job done. We paid about the same for Joe effing Schmoe 3 years ago.

To be brutally frank, to me, Benteke looks like a glorified hybrid between Hesky & Crew.RedOranje wrote:Not nearly of the type or quantity we need, though. He's not in the least bit suited to the role he would be asked to play at LFC, and trying to shoe-horn him into it would hurt not only his performances but the entire team's.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
One other thing to have in mind this summer.
Pound : Euro ratio is at its highest it's been for years and Pound is very valuable now. It means, if we buy from abroad, we can get a lot more value.
25M pounds is 34.5 M Euros today. Take that to Napoli/Lyon and a few million here or there they'll budge.
Same...offer Higuain/Lacazatte 110k/week which will be 150k euros/week, and they'll get on the first bus here.
PLAYERS IN ITALY/FRANCE/SPAIN ARE VERY LOWLY PAID. That's how champions of France in Lille left there for freaking Newcastle.
BE SMART FOR ONCE LFC.

Henderson? Also Sturridge is done as far as I'm concerned. We need someone better and healthier.

He clearly doesn't "hate" the player or any of the posters though. He simply wants a more reliable player.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I'd be hesitant to move to a diamond midfield. We've invest so much in the wider areas and I think it's an area where we have some solid talent to be used in Ibe, Markovic, Lallana, and Sterling plus youth. Sterling, for all every says, still seems to perform most consistent and best starting in a wider attacking role with freedom to roam, while Markovic, Ibe, and youngsters like Harry Wilson are all quite clearly wide players.
While Lallana and Sterling can both operate in a more central role fairly well, I think we'd be doing the squad as a whole an injustice and failing to utilize its full potential by predominantly operating in a midfield diamond or otherwise central formation.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I'd like to go back to the diamond. If I remember right, I heard a stat during some recent match of ours that we have crossed the ball the least in the Prem this season. And our attacking play tends to get too slow when we're out wide. And the wing-play-emphasized 4-3-3 has been shit for us. With our current squad and game plan I'd rather we played narrow than wide.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I have always been a fan of two striker formations, so whether that's a diamond, a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2 I don't really care (I've made my case for the 3-5-2 before, I love it).
That said RedO's points have merit. We've spent enough on wide players and while I think Markovic could still work well centrally there'd be a logjam for the CAM spot (Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic if we used Sterling as a striker) unless we moved Coutinho deeper into midfield full-time (which isn't a bad idea in itself).
I think a 3 - 5 - 2 really suits us if we're not going to address our fullback situation though. Especially with Mignolet looking likely to stick around the 3 at the back really lets him keep it simple and stick to what he does best, and it gets the best out of Skrtel as well. The Netherlands at the WC didn't play the most beautiful passing football, but they were still nice to watch and had some exciting matches.
I'd like to see it, but Rodgers is pretty persistent in trying to implement his 4-3-3 which I think we'll stick with.

The Christmas tree should be all right as well. It's like a narrow 4-3-3.

^ Nothing, I suppose, there he is playing away for Derby. Maybe people are less hyped up about him now that he's turned 20 and hasn't taken the Championship by storm.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Nah, Swansea's defense isn't anything special, we're over Ashley Williams. But Southampton, damn, we took their best CB and their defense has just improved... Or we thought we took their best CB. Turns out it wasn't Lovren, so it has to be Jose Fonte. He's the one we need to get. Too bad that after paying £50m for him and Clyne there won't be much left for anything else, but at least we'll finally have our defense sorted out.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
if we fail to sign one of Lacazette or Higuain, I would like us to get Jovetic. I think we can take care of him but that means we should sell Lambert and Borini both. So Jovetic and another player like Vietto or we should look at Yesil once.
I dont understand how come Sinclair is ahead of Yesil, because as I remember Yesil was not injured. In case if Yesil is not going to play in the next season, I would loan him to a mid table German team like Dortmund (or any other team from 5th to 8th) after they lose Auba
