and that Lucas-Gerrard thingy...Art Morte wrote:Fahim89 wrote:LFC team: Mignolet, Sakho, Skrtel, Can, Markovic, Manquillo, Henderson, Lucas, Gerrard, Coutinho, Lambert

Enrique must have done something pretty horrible. And no Rossiter in sight
That line up
A LEAGUE TWO side and the perfect opportunity to do some serious rotation, yet apart from Lambert we go with an XI that might as well be our XI in a Premiership game. Jesus Christ Rodgers must be shitting himself.

It's not that bad here since it's Henderson - Lucas in midfield and Gerrard is playing higher up. I still not see the point of it, though, as this XI would be a suicide in the Prem and we're not taking the opportunity to give some fringe players chances.
Obviously very very nice to see Gerrard score and any line-up should be good enough to beat Wimbledon, but I think we should have given a couple of other players chances, given the level of the opposition.

Manquillo has been shocking. Mignolet is being Mignolet.
Wimbledon marking Coutinho hard and Lambert is absolutely awful.

It's actually good, for he has a great scoring record in the lower divisions. A double time golden boot winner down there, iirc. I mean, we signed him just 6 months ago, if he cannot play against a League Two side, what was the point of signing him? I don't mind him playing, but some other choices in the line-up, ugh

1 - 2 Gerrard
The guy who has scored our goals against a League Two side. Did we do enough to keep him at Liverpool? You know my answer.

Re: AFC Wimbledon vs. Liverpool FC
I don't know what to say about this game... We had our chances, they had their chances... probably should never have been this close a game, just one goal in it...
And it was the club legend, our captain, who scored both of our goals, the player we didn't do enough to keep... showing his worth.
We won, but I'm not feeling thrilled.
Anyway, we're playing Bolton at home next, that should be fun, facing both HESKEY and Spearing

Would like to hear the excuses for this one. Clearly bailed out by Gerrard ffs. Was it the pitch? Was it this was Wimbledon's cup final they wanted it more? Intrigued tbh.
Clearly fouled...

Honestly were pathetic, a league *bleep* two side out played us.
Got so lucky that Gerrard is deadly from set pieces.
Queue the we didn't do enough to keep him remarks.

If Mario was fit, I agree, but it's not exactly a disaster to start any of our strikers against a League Two side.

But these are the sort of games you play him to get fit. You don't get match fit coming off the bench for 10 minutes.

Re: AFC Wimbledon vs. Liverpool FC
Yeah I've seen them i'm not a fan TBH, again Gerrard said he left because he didn't want to be managed(which we all know means becoming a benchy) So why would we accommodate for him in our lineup to the teams downfall.
He did whats best for the club, which should be everyone's priority, you can't have him still being the regular captain whilst coming off the bench every game or second game, it doesn't benefit the team.
People need to get over the fact his going, let's just celebrate what time his got left with us.

Considering how non existent lambert was i'm surprised Balo was only given 15 mins.

Honeslty after watching his time in the A-league, if we give him that option we need to kill ourselves.

How many times will Gerrard save us?
How old is he?
Is he leaving us this year?
Its obviously too early.
