Lucas Moura scored a hattrick against Ajax IIRC so there's that
Good point

Llorente imo, knocked out City in the semifinal

True. I feel like pointing him out as the main contributor towards Tottenham getting to the final would be similar to crediting Bale for winning Real Madrid their last CL trophy, though.
They both certainly left their marks on their respective campaigns, but it’s the more sustainable/consistent performers that got them there.

Whats prompted him to develop into such a play maker all of a sudden though? Dont follow Spurs apart from highlights mainly. Not long ago he was much more a pure 9 who finishes and score goals? Mou?

Kane's playmaking was always thing, he has just kept improving and is entering his peak.
Speaking of him as a playmaker reminds of the banter that was Kane taking corners for England at the euros

Levy would be stupid to sell to a PL team. Barca, Madrid or PSG only options

Levy doesn't care as long as good money. Also Kane won't go abroad. He is a brexit means brexit kinda guy.
City/Chelsea is probably his destination.

You guys are wasting your time, his contract expires only in 2024. So unless you're willing to drop 200m on him, he's staying put.

First Haaland, then Sancho, now Kane. Seems like too much competition here. Evan Lukaku seems like a possibility of going to ManCity. I think Liverpool should just try to be content with Mbappe.

Levy wouldn't sell a virus to Chelsea (actually, that callback stings during these times)
If he goes to any English club, it's City. It's also the destination that makes the most sense -- not a London rival + Levy might figure that City are pretty much winning the league each year anyway and have a CL position locked down. It's dumb logic because Spurs need to move deadwood and rebuild, honestly, and IMO are not in contention for CL for the next 3 years or so, but Levy won't want to strengthen a team like Chelsea, who are not locked into a top 4 spot year to year.
Selling Kane to Chelsea means that there are two CL spots to fight for with Pool, Man U, Leicester and Tottenham all in "contention"
I don't think he leaves this year, but I see him leaving unless a miracle happens this upcoming season.

Spurs doesn't have a worst squad than Chelsea or Leicester. They can absolutely compete, but probably won't

He's seen Eriksen and realized that it is enough to leave Tottenham for winning the title

Walker became the 89th player to leave Spurs and win a trophy before Spurs won their next one

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
While that's a hilarious stat and worthy of ridicule, I find narratives around trophies to be, usually, dumb as shit.
Don't get me wrong, it's a major factor for a lot of players. Maybe even the vast majority of players. However, those are trophies like the league or the champions league. Aint no Caraboo or FA Cup actually make a player like Kane want to stay at Spurs.
I guess all I'm saying is a team like Spurs, if they could continue to get to CL quarters or even semis here or there and challenge for the league every year, that's a team that quality players want to come to. That's a team Kane doesn't want to leave...even if there are no caraboos or fa cups. That versus, say, an Arsenal who hopes for top 4 but wins an FA cup every third year? A player will always pick the CL team that contends for the league, trophies or not

This is like watching fans of Bilbao and Villareal debate being contenders!

Re: Harry Kane Appreciation Thread A.K.A Soldado's Death Sentence
I never even talked about Spurs contending for the title. My point is applicable to all teams. No top players like Kane are persuaded by winning the occasional FA Cup, although it's nice. It's the league and the CL where the glory is and top players will always want to play for teams contending for that particular glory. As usual EG is creating strawman arguments.

Mate if you don't understand past tense vs future hypotheticals then you shouldn't say anything at all.

"a team like Spurs"
with that phrase alone you're insinuating that you can compete for titles, when the past 100 years suggests otherwise... drop it laddy, you're losing Kane and now your team will drop back into midtable oblivion where it belongs
