Arsenal vs Newcastle preview & Live
Team News
Arsenal
Koscielny and Monreal are injury doubts while Chambers is suspended, leaving Mertesacker our only fit center-back. No point mentioning long term injured players.
It would interesting to see who Wengers starts alongside Mert? I think we could see Gibbs or Debuchy as CB and Bellerin as RB/LB. Starting the season with 2 CB will hunt Wenger and lets hope it few weeks he will sign some reinforcement.
Newcastle are in form and we must play the strongest line up, dropping point at home would be a disaster. Would really love to start Podolski, but I think he would come off the bench.
----------------------------Szczesny-------------------------------
-Bellerin------------Debuchy--------Mertesacer---------Gibbs
-------------------------------Ramsey---------Flamini
-Oxlade-----------------------Cazorla----------------Sanchez-
--------------------------------Giroud----------------
Arsenal subs: Martinez, Hayden, Sonago, Rosický, Podolski, Campbell, Welbeck
Match facts:
1.Olivier Giroud has netted four goals in four Premier League appearances against the Magpies.
2.Newcastle United have won just one of the last 14 Barclays Premier League matches against Arsenal (W1 D5 L8) including losing the last five on the bounce.
3.Arsenal haven't scored in the first half of any of their last six Premier League matches. The earliest of their last 10 goals was a 60th minute strike.
4.The Magpies are the only team yet to score in the opening 30 minutes of their league matches this season. Their earliest goal this season has come in the 37th minute.
5.Cisse has scored seven goals from just 10 shots on target in the Premier League this season.
Team News
Newcastle
Ryan Taylor (knee) is sidelined, along with long-term absentees Gabriel Obertan and Siem de Jong (both thigh), as well as Davide Santon (knee). Krul and Elliot both out, Alnwick should be starting.
-------------------------Alnwick
Janmaaat-------Coloccini------Dummet-------Haidara
-------------------Tiote-------Colback
-------Abeid--------Cabella-----------Sammy
---------------------Perez---------
I could be way off, maybe Mole could help out with the line up.
I dont care who Wengers starts, We must win at home.

Newcastle will be looking to get two on the bounce against the big sides, Mole will say that it is remotely impossible, but this is the PL, anything can happen.
How fit is Welbeck?
I hope Giroud starts. He is good against Mole'scastle. We must start fast, and don't fall into the same trap that Chelsea fell in at St. James'.
Have to say it, this is a game in which we could have made use of Ozil and Walcott, but it is what it is and we can only beat what we have in front of us and with whom we have fit atm.

Chambers suspended.
Koscielny and Nacho both injured.
Not too many options, unless Wenger has the balls to bring Hayden into the side.

don't think he's fit yet. He was supposed to be out for 6 weeks a month ago. He tweeted that he was training 'outside' again last week but that could be anything including field work which means he'd still need two weeks to regain full fitness which would fall in line with his initial injury prognosis.
I guess that leaves Ajayi as a possible CB option but Wenger said he prefers experience in defense so most likely, Debuchy is pairing with Per which doesn't frighten me as much as Monreal did.

Re: Arsenal vs Newcastle preview & Live
Ramsey also out for up to 4 weeks now.
Now what is our team going to look like?
Welbeck to start and Ox to drop into the midfield I guess.

Re: Arsenal vs Newcastle preview & Live
last season Pardew started with Highline which made sense against Giroud but (poldi got in behind) and this time we have Alexis/Welbeck
so good combination of pace and power
not sure Newcastle with players missing can absorb pressure and defend deep either
what do you say Mole?
maybe another 7-3 incoming

United had one shot on Target and scored 2 goals.
Since Newcastle are much better team with 3 shots they could do wonders.

Re: Arsenal vs Newcastle preview & Live
As it'll be Ayoze or Cisse playing up front for them, I'm not too worried by the fact we only have one fit centre back. Even with Debuchy, neither should trouble our defence physically. Set-pieces would be a bigger problem.
Newcastle are 100% going to park it. I just hope a midfield/frontline of Ox, Santi, Alexis, Wele and Giroud will have enough guile to break them down.

Re: Arsenal vs Newcastle preview & Live
Yeah Pardew will most likely be uber defensive with one striker, 3 defensive minded midfielders and at least one defensively minded winger.
It's going to be a disgusting watch unless you score early.

With our injuries, this game will be far more difficult than it was. Newcastle must be high on morale after beating Chelsea. Cisse seems to be back in form too. Sissoko can easily bully our midfield with his pace and power.
Thankfully we have our front 3 in good form while Ramsey seems to be coming back as well.
At home we should beat them. But then we said that many times before too.
Need to make up ground and get in the top 4.
