some sloppiness aside that was one of the better performances from us, in the 2nd half. Presence of creative minds meant some chances from passes rather than from crosses.

As far as herrera is concerned, its discouraging to see him curbing his natural instincts and trying to change his game, just like lvg want him to play. Also his confidence understandably was shot. That goal will help.
Lol, now watch him not playing for a couple of months, thats what happened when he scored last.

We need a cm first so van Gaal actually plays these guys in proper positions, then wingers then maybe a cb although I think we are fine tbh.

Mata should have been my pick instead of either fellaini or van persie but its understandable as both scored in their respective last match. Smalling benched after scoring twice in the last for Jones. Anyway positives aplenty. Will take this any day.

Or otherwise he is just having a bad day. Either way switch him for valencia please ( and take off jones too). Play him as a center back or not play him at all.

yea and this is the thing that worries me more than the loss.  the thing is if you play well and still lose, its a sign of improvement, that in the next match or the one after, we will get it right and within a month we will be back where we belong in terms of quality of football as well results.

But here, lvg what will he do is, he will render this setup as non effective just like in the past explaining that we arent defensively stable when we play this formation and will revert back to his so called balanced 3-5-2. If we were playing the latter, we wouldnt have conceded the 2nd goal. But then we wouldnt have created shitload of chances as well. So its a bit of a mess we are in right now. Whenever theres an effort to change the system we wont get rewarded for it and then the stubborn old man will come up with his I told you so  and bring back shite. We may get fluke wins and even top 4 with that but eventually we wont ever get to be a challenging team.
I can take bad results with this formation unless and until we keep on creating chances like today. But what I dont want is the team to return to the negative dross. So this loss, its okay. But its next match and its philosophy which is worrying me.
