yea and this is the thing that worries me more than the loss. the thing is if you play well and still lose, its a sign of improvement, that in the next match or the one after, we will get it right and within a month we will be back where we belong in terms of quality of football as well results.
But here, lvg what will he do is, he will render this setup as non effective just like in the past explaining that we arent defensively stable when we play this formation and will revert back to his so called balanced 3-5-2. If we were playing the latter, we wouldnt have conceded the 2nd goal. But then we wouldnt have created shitload of chances as well. So its a bit of a mess we are in right now. Whenever theres an effort to change the system we wont get rewarded for it and then the stubborn old man will come up with his I told you so and bring back shite. We may get fluke wins and even top 4 with that but eventually we wont ever get to be a challenging team.
I can take bad results with this formation unless and until we keep on creating chances like today. But what I dont want is the team to return to the negative dross. So this loss, its okay. But its next match and its philosophy which is worrying me.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
"keep on creating chances like today"
Lumiere we didn't create any noteworthy chances today since our opening goal.
We looked threatening by having posession and making pacey runs, but as soon as we entered their final 3rd it was nothing but hopeless crossing, blocked shots and load of huffing and puffing. I can't remember Fabianski working hard to make a decent save. It was far too easy for him.
It makes it look like we had created chances because of the comparison to our dull and laboured approach in our previous matches.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
yea that might be it. But still the approach was positive. That itself is a welcome sign. . And majority of the chances which went begging were because of some inept and past-it players who simply didnt give a damn .
Statistically speaking we had 3 shots on target and 7 otherwise. Some of those shots which went flying past into the sky and all were half chances. And then we had 10 corners and got decent opportunities from some of them as well. Rojo open header for one.
The fact that we got that many corners itself is a change from the norm I guess. So perhaps not clear cut goal scoring opportunities like the chelseas or cities, but at least the intent and half chances were there. And pretty sure if this same setup is persisted with then we will get better and create clear cut chances too.
On the contrary When we played 3-5-2 it was like 1-2 shot max and the luck to go with it to nick in a goal.
Its evident that we dont have the defenders to play an attacking formation. But that shouldnt force them to opt for the b plan and play safe and 'hope' to win games. Just like liverpool or spurs we should play to our strength, unless and until we are facing a top team, that is. Their defense is just as bad as ours, or even worse in spuds case, but the difference between them and us, is that they look to attack where as we look to keep possession and hope.

I don't really have much else to add tbh. We are too *bleep* robotic. Typical LVG dross.

0-0 HT
So poor.
Too many defensive mistakes.
Poor final balls.
Young playing well, unlucky not to score. Oshea with a great/lucky clearance off the line.
Di Maria is basically Nani. In fact, I'd rather have Nani right now.
Everything else in between was the same ol pedestrian, slow af football.

Di Maria subbed off. Great decision. Disgraceful performance by him in the 1st half, looked like he cant be arsed.

2-0 FT. Job done. Wasn't pretty.
Good- Young, Januzaj and Herrera
Bad- Di Maria
I would have put Falcao and Rooney there but they both contributed in getting us the win.
The ref Utter clown sending off Brown instead of Oshea.

This is a start. A good team. Finally it seems lvg is seeing the light. Now as we move on to the business fixtures of the 2nd half, hope this system is retained and some non performing players are gotten rid off from the 1st team.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
The most Important match of the season tonight for various reasons such as
i.First of the 3 tight away games, and we havent won almost nothing away from home this term, even against craps, we have dropped points lavishly. So a win here is mandatory for the belief going forward.
ii. Beginning of the tough set of fixtures. We have one helluva fixture set coming up after this. So again, a win is needed to up the momentum.
Anything other than a win today and we will be able to confidently say bye bye to top 4 dreams.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Cant believe we are tied to this crap of a Newcastle team. 11 players in their own half at home and giving us all the time in the world.
Rooney missing sitters. Smalling and Evans single handedly trying to send us to precarious situations with awful decision making. Di maria loosing every alternate balls. Valencia with no idea on what to do with a football at his feet.
Poor we have been eventhough there are slight improvements. Still pretty shit. Make changes. Bloody force the game Lous!!

That was horrific. No urgency or nothing in the second half. Felt flat.
But we fluked a win.
I'll take that, thank you.
Big big win. Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham all won.
Thanks Krul

our section has gone dead it seems. Come back pals.
Anyway, massive game tonight.
Want this. A 4-1-4-1
will morph into a 3-4-3 when attacking with carrick dropping as the center of the 3 center backs and smashley and valencia going up.
but will certainly see this

Twat them, United. Cmon!
I like the starting 11. Rafael back in the squad. Very pleased with that.
We're at home, if we turn up and play to our best abilities, we should be beating them.

that moron valencia could well end up costing us the game. Cant believe lvg thinks he is better than rafael. This guy is not even bothered to run back when we are under siege. Playing as a winger. 2 wingers on the right side. Anyway good half. Please get one more and shut shop. Need a win so badly.

Ever since the subs we have struggled 2nd half to control the game.
We were looking the better team going into HT.
Again LVG clueless and hindering the team with his subs.
I've been saying for quite a while now that this man is clueless and has no idea what hes doing regarding team selections and subs

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
I am done. Wont watch a single game now. This is solely on LVG. What was the need to go defensive from the 2nd half. We were playing at our frigging home goddammit. I bet we went back to 3-5-2 as well. Well done mister. Valencia assisting welbeck. A great kick in the teeth for lvg and for his arrogance for totally shutting rafa out. At least if this defeat will bring about some changes, fair enough. Nevertheless I am *bleep* done with the season. Bye bye. Dont want anymore of this Waste of time to make my life more miserable than it already is. Will catch ya guys next season, k. cheers
