Overwatch

The premise of the setup of the game means it will last as long as there is even a small devoted community. Overwatch has already garnered a pretty decently sized devoted community before it's even launched. As others mentioned, it's a Blizzard game which means it will have longevity and it will also have Blizzard faithful like me sticking with it regardless of what new games come out.

As far as FPS's go, I haven't been as excited over one since I played the original halo trilogy.

Will it ever gain mainstream appeal like CoD or Halo or something? Of course not, but it should persist like SC2 has, or BW which still has players even today it's how Blizzard builds their games.

I played the Beta and had a lot of fun with it, I played with Torjborn and Roadhog a lot and wrecked, but honestly it got boring and stale after a while, constantly playing the same game modes got old as *bleep*, and according to Blizzard all the content in the beta is what will be in the game at launch, which completely puts me off.

I played the beta for around 10 hours overall, which is the same amount of time I played the early access version of Battlefront for, and like that game I more than had my fill of it in those 10 hours. As fun as it was it certainly isn't worth dishing out £40 for and like many others on the internet have said it would be better as a F2P game tbh.

The game will have an active community though, mostly on PC since Blizzard will support that platform for years and years, long after the XBO and PS4 are dead, and it's where their fanbase is. If it ever decide to buy the game later down the road I'll get it on PC and I advise everyone to do the same tbh.

P.S. Mercy is best waifu, I can't get over Tracers fake ass cockney accent, it's really bad

P.S.S Holy shit Hollywood is a terrible map, it makes Route 66 look balanced

P.S.S Playing with randoms in this game is worse than getting cancer, game tells them we need healers and tanks and the idiots all choose Reaper

I'm pretty sure it's an intentional, over the top accent. The voice actress is actually English. I also grew bored of that one game mode pretty fast. Hopefully, they'll add more in the not so distant future. I get that a lot of people just want to get kills and ignore the objective, but that's exactly why the game needs more game modes

More modes isn't going to change people's inability or want to play the objective, it's just how most console players are.

I genuinely don't care about kills personally unless the situation calls for it, for example there was one time I was Reinhardt and just put the Shield up and pushed the payload and didn't even try to kill people.

Sadly most people are not like that.

Good luck trying to use Reinhardt's shield as cover, when the person controlling Reinhardt has parkinson's disease, autism, is prone to getting epileptic seisurez, and can't face in one direction for longer than 2 seconds at a time

I refute these statements tbh, I can probably face in one direction for upwards of 5 seconds at a time tbf.

Don't care about kills in this game like I do in games like cod.

This one is objective and I only play for the objective (dps, tank, healer, ranged)

One of the things i loved about the beta lol, adapting to a teams tactics and the overwhelming feeling of accomplishment you get of figuring them out to get dat W

Like the time when we were near defeat as you can get with over 5 mins left but we locked them down with prime park the bus tactics

The funny thing is i played the game for a week straight and there was still well into double figures worth of characters i either didn't get good with or just straight didn't try.

When i get the game i'm really looking forward to trying some others out in depth.

I'm all about the objective, but clearly a lot of randoms playing the beta couldn't care less whether they won or lost. A more kill- based game mode would've effectively divided the people who want to play for kills, and the ones who enjoy the more objective- based modes. Either way, the game needs more than one game mode. I don't see how that's arguable.

Also a game mode about kills wouldn't work IMO, quite a lot of the characters are simply not designed for that.

Really? All I ever played was headquarters and push the ol' wagon.

Googled the game modes. It's basically just Escort, Assault, Hybrid (Escort+Assault lol), and Control (Headquarters).

No wonder I couldn't remember there being more than two game modes - Escort and Assault/Control. Assault and Control are both very similar, "King of the Hill"- type modes.

Just watched all the cinematics. As usual Blizzard's cinematics are just..

using reaper seems so easy and effective but not very satisfying
