Re: Isco
David Silva always seemed a highly dangerous player to me. Isco always seemed like a baffingly harmless player to me.
IMO they could not be more different.

If Isco goes to EPL he'll rape every midfielder&defender. then you will change your opinion.

Re: Isco
Don't wanna be that guy but Isco's stats are far better than David Silva's stats when he was at Valencia. Don't get me wrong. David Silva was a very good player at Valencia, as was Juan Mata, but he wasn't good enough to be a legend. EPL overrates skilful players, hence why I think the same could happen with Isco.Hapless_Hans wrote:David Silva always seemed a highly dangerous player to me. Wherever he goes, I am sure he'll have a very fine career.

Who is a much better midfield player. Comes with the technical quality that Isco posseses but also has better workrate, pace and decision making.
Isco is set on PSG if he actually leaves imo

I'd love Isco at Barca but I'm afraid he'll turn out to be Coutinho 2.0
Quality isn't in question here, but work-rate definitely is.

Don't let Hans and Chad fool you, Isco has a good work rate . He'll put in a real defensive shift however he isn't as versatile as someone like him should be.

There's a reason why you don't want to be that guy lol, Stats are pretty worthless in this discussion.
Iniesta's stats are pretty crap but he was still one of the best midfielders for a decade.
So yeah Silva's stats are pretty meaningless for this discussion, not to mention on average Isco has played with better players at Madrid than Silva did at Valencia.

Re: Isco
Isco just needs to show patience. Solari's double standard will be laid bare for everyone to see when Bale starts today. Isco will get the media back on his side
Even if Solari wins the CL he still needs to gtfo. He is drill holes in our ship pretending to steady it

Re: Isco
David Silva was always elite, see Euros 2008, that "fab 4" midfield with Xavi, Iniesta, Silva, Fabregas backed up by Marcos Senna was one of the most entertaining things in intl. football history. He consistently went hiding in the biggest games though which is why he often got subbed or dropped alltogether (2010).
All in all Silva is a playmaker who distributes the ball well. Isco is a neat dribbler who is hard to press and has a great touch but lacks vision and playmaking ability so he is put into a false winger position where he lacks the pace. So, yeah, pretty much another Coutinho.

I really, really, really hope Madrid won't be stupid enough to let go of a gem like Isco. I really hope so.

You can go for stats, that's the way people who don't understand football analyse football, with stats.
I don't go for stats. I go for what I felt, I go for what I watched in the game.

I don't doubt that. I said that he strikes me as more harmless than Silva.
Still, as for defensive shift, Thiago >>>>

Re: Isco
What I'm trying to say is that he was a lesser player than Isco at Valencia yet he became a legend in English football. So I can see this happening to Isco too, should he join City.Hapless_Hans wrote:You can go for stats, that's the way people who don't understand football analyse football, with stats.

There are many cases of this. Look at Laporte ffs, the guy is no better than the likes of Lenglet and by no means world class, but he joins City and he's suddenly EPL's best CB, voted not by me, by the so called pundits of English football.

Sorry, who is Lenglet?

Pundits LOL.
They don't know anything, he's been good but it's more of a Pep thing than it is a PL thing.

Yeah and all the while I'm watching I'm asking myself who the fuck is Lenglet and how did this absolute scrub end up in the Barca starting 11.
The moment Umtiti is back fit that will be the last anyone has ever heard of Lenglet

Re: Isco
So is Pep tbh, before he joined EPL he was a very good coach, world class even. But once he's on Sky/BT every weekend he suddenly becomes the world's greatest coach ever.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Pundits LOL.

Re: Isco
Well, that was Lenglet's role anyway. To be a back up. Thought Umtiti would have started tbh.

I mean PL is the only league where Pep has actually failed to win the league in his first year lol and the only league where he finished below 2nd.
So that's clearly nonsense.

Real Madrid have offered Isco to Chelsea for £44 million in a bid to sign Christian Eriksen.
