Not really, Alan Wake is an actual game with a very interesting story and fun gameplay mechanics where as Heavy Rain is an interactive movie lmao.

Only reason it reviewed so high was because of choice mattering being a thing at the time and it being unique compared to most games.

Anyone who isn't a bias fanboy knows Alan Wake was and is one of the best games of the last generation and Heavy Rain isn't even in the stratosphere as a GAME.

Reviews mean absolutely *bleep* all, case in point PES is currently 4th in highest reviewed PS4 games looool.

Are you telling me that the fact it was unique compared to most games isn't a big reason why it reviewed so high.

In terms of straight gameplay it isn't in the same stratosphere, that's undeniable.

Also you can't call me a fanboy considering i had a 360 all last gen and then switched to PS3 and now PS4. If anything i'm the least fanboy of all of you Laughing

I had both 360 and PS3 too :coffee:

In terms of gameplay+story, I liked it. Some of the QTEs were intense and one of the best QTE implementation I have seen in gaming. It had unique gameplay and it worked quite well. The story was really good too. That's why it got reviewed so high. And it deserved those reviews.

I loved Alan Wake. Pissed that Remedy is making that Quantum Break shit instead of Alan Wake 2. But you can like one game without hating on the other.

Didn't deny it didn't have a good story but so did Alan Wake and the atmosphere trumps almost anything in recent memory outside of a very small number of titles.

BTW i don't hate on Heavy Rain, i think it's a good game and did some things very well but i just think the only reason the two are compared is because PS3 gamers needed a reason to compare it's games to 360 as IMO Alan Wake is a far superior game.

Remedy made a mistake by releasing Alan Wake the same day as Red Dead Redemption imo, that's why it didn't sell enough and they stopped making a full sequel and released a half-assed DLC instead.
