Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.X
lol I am serious, the guys just didn't have the legs to go that extra mile especially with most of our starters out injured and we played some tough away games as well

I read somewhere that we haven't replaced Pardez as our sporting director. So basically Perez is in charge of our team, which explains why our last summer's buys were alot more logical than this summer's

Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.X
Yeah Mole... i don't think you remember how pathetic we were before January. We were 7 points out of first place. What killed us is that, with Jese injured, we had no depth. Then Di Maria, CR7 and Bale all got injuries starting in late March. Benz was injured too... but he could play, so he played since we had nobody left lol (missed 10 days i think).
We were forced to play our top XI the from the first match in January and couldn't afford to rotate since we were playing catch up. We paid that come end of March. We were in first place too when all the injuries hit.

Where else would he get the idea that James would somehow be a good choice based on WC. If we had a sporting director not named Valdano I am pretty sure he would've been stopped. Alonso wanted to leave last season too but unlike this season we actually convinced him to stay then. Would the tyrant even have bothered this time?? The fact that four days before the end of the window we have successfully dismantled nearly our whole midfield of last season all the while finding no buyer for Khedira letting him go for free next season and the best replacement of XABI ALONSO being LUIS FCKING GUSTAVO allows me to think our transfers are done by an incompetent chump and the only one fitting that description is Perez himself
Actually maybe we let go of Alonso to make up for the money we would lose by letting Khedira go for free next summer. There is no logic left in this board. none
At least last summer we tried to address our issues by trying to find an Alonso replacement, getting Isco who would have fit into the 4-2-2-2 we wanted to play at the start, got a RB to replace Arbeloa and Bale because we have the money. This season only Kroos has addressed our needs and we are selling quite alot of important players. Classic case of buy first figure a way to fit them in later. This whole transfer window bar Kroos has Perez' ugly prints all over it. I am waiting for him to replace Alonso with an AM, he seems to have a hard on for them despite us not playing with an AM at all

Quite surprised by the Alonso signing.
With Bastian able in the pivot, Lahm able in the pivot and that young kid Gaudino who looks incredibly composed for his age...is it really needed to have Alonso?

3rd in the league and 30 seconds away from not winning the CL.
Seems legit.
not sure why people keep bringing up this point .
madrid dominated the crap out of that game and atletico's only relevant chance came from a casillas brainfart.

Almunia, former Arsenal player, won't be new Cagliari GK and he is close to retire now
He was signed by Cagliari but his medical exams have revealed heart problems.

I think it is very simply down to Schweini being out with patella tendon problems and we don't know how long this will last. Longer than a month probably.
Javi out until next year, guess they felt we were short on experience.
Gaudino is 17. Was absolutely, stunningly fantastic on Friday imo, but, yeah, is 17.
Lahm played right back in the first league game.
Right now it's still not clear how Pep wants to play, but think it will be changed from last year.
Strange, but kind of good.

actually I am laughing at Madrid here, letting both Alonso and Di Maria leave, well everyone knows Di Maria was imp for them, for me Alonso may be past it but still provided so much, so I dont know how they are planning to replace him.

Forgot he was injured too, I didnt know it was fairly long term.
I know, Gaudino is just a kid. But if there is a big coach out there who dont give two hoots about how young you are, its Pep.
But yeah, your right. I think its just Bayern and Pep being extra careful not to get caught so shorthanded. Martinez, Schweini and I guess Thiago too are getting injured too frequently.

But even Pep has to be careful with the kid - he's still not very strong and I don't think it is a good idea to overplay him and risk injuries. The Franchise wrote:I know, Gaudino is just a kid. But if there is a big coach out there who dont give two hoots about how young you are, its Pep.

How can you overplay a 17 year old to the point of risking injury?
It seems clear he wont be starting 3 games a week, and I dont think anyone would see that coming.

I think that's one main reason why it kind of makes sense.
Alonso won't block Gaudinos, Höjbjergs, or Labas for that matter, future.
I have no doubt Gaudino will get enough time, What other top clubs starts a 17 year old, in his first league game, as midfield conductor against a strong opponent on opening match day.
But there's also Champions league etc coming. When Kroos left we decided to replace him internally, with Alaba, maybe Höjbjerg, now Gaudino.
But now Javi is out, Schweini is out, Thiago is out.
It was getting pretty thin, and we can surely need some experience there.
Doubt there are many players more experienced than Alonso.

Oh and let's not forget that Rafinha is out too for 2 months, so Lahm will potentially be needed on the right side.

duh, we have signed this guy named Kroos, who has just been stellar since he arrived in Madrid. loooolHEIL MEIN REDS wrote:actually I am laughing at Madrid here, letting both Alonso and Di Maria leave, well everyone knows Di Maria was imp for them, for me Alonso may be past it but still provided so much, so I dont know how they are planning to replace him.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.X
Well, my point was it could have been possible due to the number of injuries Bayern have atm. Now with the addition of Xabi Alonso, the midfield isn't as thin as before and so the kid can continue to develop slowly. The Franchise wrote:How can you overplay a 17 year old to the point of risking injury?

Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.X
Yeah... both Kroos and James have looked good imo. Kroos has been awesome while James has played well considering he's asked to play lower than he's used to. We struggled when we played Alonso-Kroos-Modric and badly. I think that's why Alonso left... the writing was on the wall. Carlo probably let him know that he was no longer a regular.

I didnt see full 90 minutes of any Madrid's game in this season, so as I understand it will be
Modric
Hames-Kroos
Bale-Benzema-Nick's fav Madrid player
Not sure if it is actually working and a balanced midfield trio imo Hames-Kroos
Bale-Benzema-Nick's fav Madrid player

Also didnt know that. Pep seems to like Rafinha too, so yeah the need for Alonso seems alot bigger than I knew.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.X
Alonso is leaving because he is 33 years old, and he is european champions, we madridistas, usually kill players who are playing bad or are giving us his decline and bad form, Alonso will leave as a giant and will be remembered as a great at this point. Think about Iker Flopillas recently. People is bored of himsportsczy wrote:Yeah... both Kroos and James have looked good imo. Re: 2014 Summer Transfers Rumours Mk.X
I think the issue with the youngsters is not so much overplaying them physically but demanding/expecting them to be able to carry too much responsibility rapidly.
Would be unfair to them and irresponsible as a top club's squad management.
It's a balance, but I'm not worried Pep would hesitate to trust them appropriately.
