I didnt think it would happen this summer. i thought he would ride it out and be part of the transition phase. I had the feeling Carlo would have used Kroos-Alonso-Modric in some important games this season.

Anyway, the winner is Khedira, he is now going to play a lot this season. Illarra, well, he has to sack it up.

Manchester United are preparing to thwart Arsenal's attempts to sign William Carvalho after renewing interest in the £24 million-rated Sporting Lisbon midfielder.

With United due to formally unveil £59.7m British record signing Ángel di María at a press conference at Old Trafford on Thursday, Louis van Gaal, the manager, is now pressing Ed Woodward, the club's executive vice-chairman, into securing at least one new midfielder before Monday's transfer deadline.

but to answer your question Nick right now I'm simply perplexed.
Did not see that coming at all.

But thinking about it there's a lot to like.
Javi is out, Schweini is out for an unknown time and has had nagging injury problems since something like 2 years now.
Thiago is out.

Höjbjerg is 18, or 19 since a couple of days.
Gaudino who played magnificiently on Friday is 17.
Those two can't be expected to carry the responsibility in midfield immediately.

Alonso won't block their future but add immediate top experience.
Can't deny either I've always admired him a lot.

Guess he wants to join exclusive club of Seedorf by winning the CL with three different clubs - can't blame him Molenation

I think Mazzarri appreciates him enough , but the club hadn't the courage to refuse a similar offer , considering we aren't still a club solid economically, basically if Sunderland get saved we earn 12 mln for a player who was never a real difference maker for us and we haven't reached an agreement for extending his contract who expires in 2015, his last season was the best under us and he played well only the first half of season . So inconsistent. Hardly it would be happened again a similar offer.
I don't know what thinking really now , anyway.
Economically it's not easy to refuse this offer and it's okay, but technically we have lost a quality player in a roster with few players of these qualities.
So I wait 2nd of the September for a clear idea.
It can be a massive deal, but it can be also a crap
