If it is due to his knees, I go back to my initial confusion of why he's failed it tbh.

He was fine for us last season healthy wise, well he did have one hamstring injury but that's it.

A rumor floating around in Mexico is that Atleti are trying to push for a Chicharito move.

Would make sense considering they lost Costa, Villa, Adrian, Diego all who played up front. Adding Griezeman alone isn't enough considering he's really a winger. Chicharito would help the bench big time

Still no news on Ochoa. Crazy this guy is a free agent you would figure someone would of snagged him up by now

Yeh they're interested in Hernandez I think and also Lukaku. Not sure how they'd fit in though with Griezmann set to sign, unless Koke moves to CM.

According to Sky Remy deal is off not because of medical but because Borini refused to go to Sunderland. (probably bollocks on their part though)

The mega lolz if we get Remy ( again unlikely) because Borini turned down Sunderland. rofl

The BBC reporting it was an issue with his medical, I find that more likely. For the fee, 8.5m, I think we would have been fine signing him even if Borini refuses to go to Sunderland.

But it's a downer, the price:quality ratio was certainly a fine one in Remy's case.

He hasn't had any issues with it.  None.

Pretty pathetic by Liverpool.  He travelled to the US to get his medical done there.... and they back off based on a well documented and known fact.  It's not even an issue since he's had no problem with it.

Remy has to reopen his options now.  So frakkin poor by Liverpool... what a pub team.

Our medical team that's one of the best in the world do his medical and he fails it, they advice against signing him. Then we take a whole week getting the best professionals to Boston to give us a second opinion and long behold they also come to the same conclusion. But no, we should listen to Sportz who knows it all. You pleb do you even know the extent of condition? Don't talk bullshit if you don't, I'm sure some of the best professionals in their fields of study are more reliable than just saying to ourselves "oh well he did pass his medical at Newcastle, QPR, and Marseille".

If it is his heart I do question it tbh, mainly because he has an entire career of evidence to suggest it's not a problem.

If it's knees like Sepi said it's different because that would be a new thing that hasn't cropped up before.

What do you know about heart conditions Mole? Do you know more than some of the best cardiologists in the world? What do you know about his condition? What if it has gotten worse and the risk was too great?

Any of you remotely discussing a serious medical issue that has to do with the heart without any sort of qualification disgust me. This is a football forum so let's stick to football.

Jan Vertonghen insists he wants to remain with Tottenham and has confirmed he has been offered a new five-year contract to remain with the north London club.

The Belgian has been linked with a move to Barcelona who are in the market for a centre-back following the retirement of veteran Carlos Puyol.

But Vertonghen appears to have ruled out a departure from White Hart Lane this summer and has indicated he is ready to follow Hugo Lloris’ lead and sign a new deal with the club.

"It goes without saying that I would like to stay at Tottenham Hotspur,” he told Belgian station Radio 1.

“I still had a contract for four years. They offered me new contract of five years, I see as great sign of confidence."

I'm a OM fan if you didn't know...  OM paid a lot of money for Remy at the time (16  mil euros) and there was a thorough examination of his medical records.  It was reported on extensively in the papers:

http://www.leparisien.fr/sports/transfert-de-remy-a-l-om-une-anomalie-cardiaque-detectee-20-08-2010-1037922.php#xtref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.fr%2F

The issue was previoulsy detected at Lyon and OM wanted to make sure they got the best medical advice possible before finalising...  so they had the Institut Pasteur do the tests and give an opinion in France + Johns Hopkins in the US also look at the test results and provide their opinion.

If you're telling me that the Liverpool medical staff is more qualified than the Insitut Pasteur and Johns Hopkins...  there isn't much i can say Laughing

I hope for Liverpool's sake that it's something else.  Because if it isn't, it's absolute bullcrap.  This info was thorough and it's been out there for a long, long time.

He had no problems during the WC and played.  Unless he got an injury jumping in the swimming pool, i don't know what else it could be.

For me... it's Liverpool not doing their due diligence on a player until right before the signing and, in the process, screwing the player over.

I'll add that anyone who says that the issue was recurring/chronic knee issues has no idea what they're talking about...  Remy never had a serious knee injury of any sort.  He's had hamstring issues that are fairly typical for very fast players; but that's it.

Stephan El Shaarawy’s agent has insisted that the striker is not set for an AC Milan exit, despite reported interest from Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old, who missed large parts of last season due to injury problems, has been linked with a move away from the San Siro after Milan failed to secure European football.

El Shaarawy enjoyed his finest season to date in 2012/13 as his 18 goals in all competitions alerted a host of European sides to his talents and helped establish himself as a regular for Italy.

Madrid were said to be among the clubs chasing the youngster, but his brother and agent, Manuel El Shaarawy, is certain that a departure will not happen.

"I read about an alleged interest from Real Madrid for El Shaarawy, but I can say without a doubt that Stephan will remain at Milan," he told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"He has a wonderful relationship with Pippo Inzaghi, who has always believed in him and his potential."

Sportsczy might be right about Remy and he seems to be somewhat informed about the situation and his history. But will I be completely wrong if I speculate that Remy is now older than in his France times and the possible condition with his heart could be riskier? Especially since the deal was to offer him a five-year contract.

Similar to Liverpool signing Origi, both clubs should be focusing on what they need right now. Future signings should be last on the list imo.
