The only athlete that makes more money than CR atm is Floyd Mayweather.

Although about 40% of CR's income comes from endorsements and such.

They are paying more than that for Roonay so why not lol.

I don't think people really understand the magnitude of that club, they get 75m per year from Adidas alone lol.

yes, i am. Cristiano is earning between 17-20 mil net per year per soanish medias. I dont know exactly but it's in that ball park.

Forbes ranking for best paid athletes came out today and it says that CR is earning $52mil per year in wages, that's 38,5 mil euros, and if you apply the 53% tax rate, it's 18 mil net.

that's insane

I thought that 17-20m was GROSS everytime I heard, and thougt "well almost double our top players, thats a lot"

Hans as of now Liverpool cant buy a player and directly pay him so much. I think Suarez was an exceptional player and so exceptional wages. We may do that in future but I think it will happen gradually depnding upon if we are able to consistently finish in top 4 or challenge for something. That is why club is heavily following strategies like:
1. Home grown players more
2. English players more
3. Buy top class potential
4. Or try to get a sneaky move for an established player if possible somehow

Yes it's insane, Messi makes more lol. PSG were willing to give him 20+ mil net, we had to do something to keep him.

He is by far our highest earner, the next one is Iker around 9 mil net, then bale and the rest

It's actually £500k/week i think, but he is CR, a scoring machine, etc... he is elevated to god like status in footy so people understand he is priced outside of the normal market i guess.

Yea.....FSG's wage model is very straight forward. Sign on average wages, and if performances warranted, increase it.

Suarez signed on 40k a week, got raised to 100k/week 1.5 years later, and then got raised to 200k/week last dec.

Sturridge signed on 60k/week, and apparently he's set to get raise to 100k/week this summer. Sterling signed on 1000k/week, after his debut and breakthrough, he got raised to 30k/week, and this summer, he's supposed to get a new contract around 80k/week. Ditto Coutinho.

that's why, if for example Cavani (garbage player) is signed for 300k/week straight, there will be mayhem in changing room. That's the reason Kroos left Bayern, and Arsenal gave up on Khedira. You should always consider similar players when offering wages.

United are rolling in cash, and can offer 110k/week to Shaw straight off, or 70k/wee to Januzaj, or 120k/week to Young after 5 games. But clubs with a wage structure don't roll that way.

Christoph Kramer is legit, but he won't go anywhere this season. He's on loan to BMG and Max Eberl insists in him seeing out his loan.

When the league purchases players they are not subject to allocation. I have no idea why people always throw that around.

The league will purchase Beasley and determine what team he ends up on after discussions. My educated guess though is that he would end up on the Chicago Fire.

I just wonder what it felt for Sterling to go from 1000k to 30k a week. Surely a humbling experience that was good for the development of his character

We dont boast of stability yet. This is why Sanchez rejected us, He knew worst he could finish is 4th with Arsenal.
