Re: Alexis on the move let's see where he lands
First of all, congratulations to all Arsenal fans on the signing of Asexis Sanchez.
Yet if we do not include Eden Hazard in the aforementioned tier, Asexis definitely cannot be included in there. Asexis is still before his footballing yet as a player he has achieved little and this does not include by trophies but sheer impact for his teams, to which a younger Hazard has more.
Asexis is rated fine as especially for Chile, yet Hazard has become CRIMINALLY underrated on this forum, while frauds like Oscar continue to be rated on the upper echelons of talent.

Gil what a disgrace, using Squawka to compare players, absolutely ridiculous.
It's always telling, people who are quick to run to statistics in a football argument are always those who lack of understanding. Gil, i know you have been disappointed by Hazard, it's ok to admit it. He is not the super phenom you thought his youtube skills would make him. Football is a lot more complicated and nastier than that.
I have said it before, there is so much more to Sanchez as a footballer than Hazard, and things a lot more tangible than dribbling, or running down the touchline to cut inside.
@lenear, what's funny is that in that lille winning squad, gervinho was better than Hazard. Eden had those magic moments, like his goal vs Lyon, but the guy that was going out there producing week in and week out was Gervais. And then you had Cabaye, Mavuba, Balmont, Debuchy, prime Rami. so many players putting work.
How was Gervinho better when Hazard was the one that won player of the year. (the youngest player to ever win it)

Sorry but if your eye test cant allow you to realize that Hazard and Robben are not the same tier of players, then i dont think i can trust your eye test

@Gil
Ozil's exactly the same but he gets ridiculed all the time lol for the same reason you rate Hazard. I don't see you jumping in his defence.
I don't disagree that Hazard has a higher Ceiling, but to say he is already on par with Robben and co while Sanchez isn't is illogical and plain bias.

because of hype, as always. It's a popularity contest.Gil wrote:

and it's for that same hype that people, including you, rate Hazard far better than he actually is.

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Gil wrote:Wait, what exactly has Reus won? Hazard has won Ligue 1 and the Europa League.
Anyway, judging players on trophies alone is stupid.
Reus was one of the best players in the CL the season Dortmund went to the final and despite being injured for majority off last season still scared the eventual winners last season shitless.
Hazard's biggest contribution to CL success is subbing himself off after 30 mins to allow Sherla to dominate and win Chelsea the tie against PSG.
So he's won *bleep* all then. Glad you confirmed it.
Also love how you glorify and exaggerate Reus' impact in their CL run but completely disregard Costa's importance in Atleti's historic League + CL challenge.

Are you seriously trying to claim Hazard lacks any substance? That would be a losing battle.

I rate Oezil though, his form has gone to complete shit since the turn of the year though. Fatigue must be playing a part.

No i am just trying to say that Alexis Sanchez is a better football player than Hazard, just like Di Maria is a better football player than Ozil. Because they understand that playing footy doesnt end when the ball is not in their feet. They have that ability to impact the game with AND without the ball.

Re: Alexis on the move let's see where he lands
gervinho was better than hazard in that 2010-2011 season
look no further than lille's forum ( and google translate ) for confirmation .
and here's another secret for people who don't watch ligue 1... hazard was not even the best player in 2011-2012 the only reason he got the award was because belhanda the dummy punched an opponent in the face .

till now Sanchez hasn't done anything in his career to be considered better than Hazard, not even close. 2 bad years at barca and a pretty good season convinced you that he is better than Hazard who has been performing at super high level for years and is still 2-3 years younger ?

I aint opening that link of crap.
Atletico beat us without Costa and they were VERY close to beating Madrid without him too. They functioned just fine without him.

like say, running to cover the fullback. like pressing off the ball. like defending in general. like making runs off the ball to attack the box instead of trying 1-2s all the time. just off the top of my headPippo wrote:Like what?Mr Nick09 wrote:I have said it before, there is so much more to Sanchez as a footballer than Hazard, and things a lot more tangible than dribbling, or running down the touchline to cut inside.

Without the ball, its night and day between Hazard and Alexis. Both defensively and offensively, Alexis is superior when the ball isnt at his feet.
Hazard is more talented, but dont confuse it with performance.

Re: Alexis on the move let's see where he lands
i remember that Allas video showing Alexis consistently attacking some poor team in between the lines to get open. Like running, stopping, moving the defender back, running again. Just some fantastic stuff that the replay makes you appreciate even more. ill be damned the day i see Hazard run that hard off the ball to stay open

100% agree with this. Robben when healthy is fire, and has shown it to it's full degree this tournament.
Hazard literally disappears some games all together.

Re: Alexis on the move let's see where he lands
As a general principle, I don't understand why talking up or defending one player (Alexis) must automatically go hand with hand with slagging off another (Hazard).
A football league is no wild west town you know, there IS space for more than only one of them.

Hans, the voice of reason. Not at the level of rwo as a German GL poster, doesn't have the same consistency, but still a good talent.

loooooool.
Thanks Fussball. You're like the great-granddad that everyone heard a tale about from their grandmothers, who came home after a day of hard work and called dinner 'eatable', and that was a huge compliment
Sounds like I need to dig out some youtube videos of some of the countless embarrasing posts I made to stop the Hans hype
