Marca are reporting the deal is done.

Cesc Fàbregas will play for Chelsea next season. The clubs have agreed on a fee of 33 million euros, plus extras for trophies won. The player will sign for four seasons and will earn 10 million a year before tax, three more than what he was on at Barça.

Cesc has chosen the British capital. But his wife has too, who is used to living there and has a large mansion in one of the smartest areas of London. It makes sense then that the player should be interested in Chelsea's offer ahead of any others.

I think it needs to be done before world cup, after that i don't know if it will happen. I am betting we will sign Cesc, and he will play alongside Matic and Oscar.

That really doesn't do Cesc justice for the pivot.

The last couple of sentences are good though.

Next season we will go back to how we played early in the season, press high+counter. Like how Dortmund played or Bayern in the CL wining season. I believe that is what Mou envision for the team. So 4-2-3-1 will stay next season, and beside Oscar movement and occupying space makes no difference in formation change. Lampard and Ramires had a lot of freedom to move up the pitch thanks to Matic defensive ability and Oscar ability to drop back. I have no doubt Cesc could do much better then those two offensively, Cesc and Oscar would literally be interchanging but Oscar more valuable defensively as a 10 because how good he is at pressing. Cesc defensive ability will be shielded thanks to all the players surrounding him. We have bunch of players that work hard, and Cesc will amp it up too.

I am more convinced then ever that Oscar and Cesc are in Mou best XI. I can't wait for next season:

Fabregas in a midfield pivot? I doubt. I think he's going to play CAM (and probably will link up nicely with Costa, too).

No he will not play as a CAM, Mou demands much more defensive work rate and quickness from his no.10. Mou plans on pressing high up the pitch, which was successful until we ran into the problem of lack of goals.

It would be utterly strange if Cesc was brought in as a CAM, because he creates the same problem as Mata in that position.

Cesc won't play a typical pivot player anyway.

Honestly, Blue, I think that will only happen in the small games.

No way are we going to play that lineup against City or Liverpool. They would too easily exploit Cesc's lack of defence and attack through there.

Any half decent team and you will not see Fabregas at pivot. It will be Ramirez-Matic.

I'll be very surprised to see Cesc in the pivot also, but stranger things have happened but I can't see it.
