Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Anyway, there isn't much difference between a person's wishful thinking and a transfer rumour from an IBA.

Not just saying this because he was terrible this WC but I've never rated him for what he would cost.
Would he be an upgrade? of course, not that we have any business talking it up.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Cavani is a 9. Without services, he's useless. Uruguay's midfield is beyond pathetic... zero creativity. In the end, Cavani had to dezone and play ball recovery so that there was some energy out there. He's not at all the type that can drop into the 10 role.
Same as Falcao. Both these guys need creators behind them.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Catalan newspaper Sport believes Barcelona star Sanchez, who has starred throughout the World Cup, has already rejected the Reds and would prefer a move to Arsenal.
It is claimed Sanchez first priority would be to stay with the Catalan club, but any move to the Premier League would see him choose the Gunners.
Sanchez has supposedly told Liverpool that he's not interested in a move to Anfield.

Sanchez
Come home, lad
@MJ - I agree with Sportsy.. I know we are not linked with him, nor can we match his 300k p/w wages.. But some one like him or Falcao, who can bury some of them chances our gamut of attacking midfielders create = JIZZ.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Not a rumor, but I thought this was pretty funny from Arseblog today:
http://arseblog.com/2014/06/rodriguez-shines-as-brazil-stumble-through/
James Rodridguez is the top scorer at the tournament and has seen his star rise in Brazil in a big way. Those who harbour hopes that he’s somehow a transfer target for us simply because he’s been playing well shouldn’t get their hopes up. He moved from Porto to Monaco last summer for €45m, and he’s probably added another €20m to that value at least.
Don’t get me wrong. I want him like I want a bacon sandwich and a beer for breakfast, taken on the deck of my super-yacht on the Med before I go down to the dungeon and light-saber John Terry’s feet off but it’s pretty unlikely to happen.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
We don't actually make that many chances, though. I know Giroud misses a few but it's not like the 07/08 team that created about five chances per game for Adebayor who'd miss about four of them.

Wenger admits to Lee Dixon on air that he "almost sold Joel Campbell" a while ago.
Says "we'll see" to whether he'll be an Arsenal player next season.
Thoughts of sale were probably due to work permit imo.

Linked with a £23m move for Khedira by the Sun, Metro, Express and L'Equipe (all at different times this month, the sun the most recent)
Kinda bad press that these pics of Wenger at the beach keep getting posted on Twitter with derogatory captions.
I kinda wish we'd see this picture instead

Tottenham bid to hijack Loic Remy and Serge Aurier.

I think Spurs soon will bid for Schneiderlin and Sanchez too.

Henen could be a good get. I remember reading about him as a Fergie target a few years ago.

Barcelona eyed stunning move for Arsenal star Mesut Ozil
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/386457/Barcelona-eyed-stunning-move-for-Arsenal-star-Mesut-Ozil-before-Luis-Suarez-s-bite-storm
How funny would it be if Ozil asked to be sold to Barcelona?
Say what you want I can see Ozil really wanting to leave, if Wenger does not keep his promise of strengthening Arsenal.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
That report is just some crackpot clickbait. Anyway. At this point, any Arsenal player who tries to push through a move to Barcelona should be sat down and shown a documentary about Hleb, Song, Fabregas ...
Even Thierry went from being an Arsenal club legend to a second fiddle at Barca. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I think it's best we sign a more experienced RB to be honest. Debuchy a great choice, I dont really trust the new Eboue.

Buy Aurier as well,Loan out Jenkinson
proper depth
can still use Serge as a defensive winger or LB when needed

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Debuchy makes more sense. At 28/29, he'd be good in the immediate short term while not blocking the way completely for Jenkinson and Bellerin.
No idea what Newcastle's price would be, though. Not the easiest club to buy from.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
No idea who that source is but Debuchy would be a solid replacement.
Experienced, PL-proven, has already replaced Sagna in France's XI anyway and would represent a vote of confidence in Bellerin and Jenkinson to be our long-term right backs in the future.
£12m has been thrown about as a number by a few of those tabloid-ish reports from the past week.

L'Equipe is the source for Debuchy contacts with Arsenal.... the best source out there for French players as long as it doesn't involve Provence or Monaco. In this case, the info is solid

He is more than good enough... but a very different player. He's an attacking fullback. Giroud and Ozil would throw a party if he signed.
