Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Why arent we all in for Kroos?
The guy is as good a Xavi replacement as we are going to get and he wont cost the moon.We should be all over it.
And I dont buy this nonsense that he cant play CM.He can very well play CM in a 4-3-3.
Ambidextrous, great passer, always looking for the ball and coming towards it and has a lethal shot with both feet.
We should definitely sign him.

We're in contact with Bayern about him.

Personally I'm not the biggest fan of Kroos. He's no different then Fabregas to me and has a tantrums due to not getting contract extension. If Pep isn't fighting to keep him that says something about him.

This.
Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Kroos is very different to Fabregas.Unlike Fabregas,he has no issue coming towards the ball.In a 3 man midfield he can play CM very well unlike Fabregas.
Besides who else is thr that we can get.
The only other young CM's around of a similar level are Verratti and Thaigo. No chance of getting Thiago and Verrati would cost the moon.So Kroos is the most logical choice.

I don't watch him regularly but I saw him choke every time Madrid pressed him and these are the type of matches you should assess a player on. He can pass, but he can't control the ball under pressure. His willingness to come deep and receive the ball is not quite enough to play that role.
In my opinion Thiago and Verratti are not the only options. But I agree they'd top the list.
Off topic: really impressed by Cuadrado, team player and would fit Barça well.
Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Kroos actually can control a ball under pressure pretty well and practically never loses a ball.
You don't know whether Pep is 'not fighting to keep him', Pep, Sammer and Rummenigge have all been very vocal they'd like to keep him; you don't know whether he has 'tantrums' - I never heard he had one, so give me an instance.
If he goes it might be he simply wants to move somewhere else you know.
I for one, regardless of what I will say when he's gone , will be very sad if he leaves us, and the club he joins will have an absolutely fantastic addition.

Don't get me wrong here like Fàbregas I think Kroos is a great player and will benefit a lot of clubs, however we aren't one. Unless you want to sell him for 15-20M I wouldn't mind that.
Your correct I don't know that, but again because they've been vocal doesn't exactly mean much. Our board was vocal on keeping Fàbregas and Sanchez, we know what happen to one and Sanchez is most likely on his way also. I just read another report saying Bayern are willing to swap Kroos for Sanchez.
Anyways if Bayern were that keen how come he hasn't signed a contract already? Isn't he not happy with Gotze being paid more? Either at the moment Bayern can't find a suitable replacement or there weighing their options.
Tantrum/attitude a game a few months back when Pep subbed him off he kept walking up to Pep questioning him which resulted him being benched. His contract demands, etc are all evident enough.
If you look back in the start of the season I was quite happy with Kroos, but as I watched him more often I just didn't feel the same way about him anymore and it rose a lot of question marks. He's been underwhelming in all the big games. I agree with dany he seems to crack under pressure quite often.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Caudrado would fit in at Barca where? The dude plays almost like a centermid for Colombia
He isnt a rightback for sure, but he dont seem even like a winger either. He doesnt try and get in behind the defence, he looks for spaces in front of the defence and then likes to dribble.
Im not seeing why we are interested.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
he really is a right winger for fiorentina, what he does tactically to support colombia midfield doesnt apply to what he does in general. if anything u should be happy he understands sacrifice and work ethic

Id be more happy with us signing players which fill a need. Rather than experimental stuff in positions we dont have problems with.

I dont see the hype with Cuadrado.I dont watch Fiorentina but based on what I have seen at the WC,I am not impressed. He will be no better than Sanchez.
Another waste of money I suppose.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Sarcasm,I suppose. No need for that.We need forwards who can play against 10 men.Not counter attack specialists.
All I have seen so far from him have been some attempted tricks that have gone no where.Guy works very hard though but then Sanchez already does that.

He does everything Pedro does but twice as good.
Re: Transfer Rumours V5
That would mean something if I thought Pedro should be around.
I also highly doubt he is twice the finisher Pedro is.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
He is not twice the finisher but he has so many good things about him that Pedro has lost. The ability to take on his man, the confidence to be creative when he has the ball: To pick a pass, cross with accuracy and generally be what a winger is supposed to do. And like Pedro, he is a team player.
Don't get me wrong I used to be a big fan of Pedro but recently the first thing on his mind is keeping the ball rather than creating something going forward. Maybe it is best for both Barça and Pedro himself to part ways especially with the rumours regarding Suárez, Cuadrado and such joining the Catalans.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
we should just stop with typical wingers in the first place...
we don't need someone who can get passed his man and just cross to a 5'7 messi, i'd personally want an inside winger who can do one touch passing and score with preferably a left foot in our right wing position.
aka a left footed neymar who tracks back and helps defend.

Re: Transfer Rumours V5
Idk where some of you are getting Cuardrado is an excellent dribbler. I have seen literally zero evidence of that and I've looked for that specifically in his play during the WC because that was one of the things I was most suspicious about. He's absolutely fast as hell. He has a good touch at speed. But when he takes someone on head on I've only seen him get dispossessed. Maybe he just needs to be refined but I'd say at 25 he's almost a finished product and if that's the case he's much more suited for a 4 4 2 winger and 4 2 3 1 RAM where he can sit deep and eat up space when he gets or get behind defenses on the counter. But playing forward in this system if we are indeed sticking with the tiki taka would not be a fit for him because he would primarily have to take his man off the dribble which is not his element at all.

100% agree with all that, up until the point of the choice of replacements.
