UEFA have confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso after last weekend’s Champions League final in Lisbon.

Simeone could be punished following his “dismissal from the bench”, after he rushed on to the pitch twice during extra time; once to confront the referee over the five minutes of injury time that ultimately cost them the title following a Sergio Ramos 93rd minute equaliser.

On the other occasion Simeone ran onto the pitch and confronted Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, after the last goal had been scored in his side’s 4-1 defeat, due to the fact that the young French international kicked the ball at Simeone into the Atletico Madrid dugout.

Meanwhile, Alonso, who was watching the match from the stands due to suspension, made his way on to the pitch to celebrate the second Real Madrid goal scored by Gareth Bale, which UEFA called a “breach of general principles of conduct”.

UEFA say the cases will be heard on July 17 and both could face suspension from Champions League matches next term should they be found guilty, while adding that both clubs are being charged for receiving more than five yellow cards each during the match.

UEFA are a joke if they give Xabi the same punishment as Clownione.

well it's being reported Simeone might receive a 6 game's ban if he is charged. Add that to the two games he will miss due to Uefa charging him for bringing his players too late in the second half of an unspecified game and he wilp likely miss their whole Cl campaign next season lmao. We will have to see that douche Burgos screaming in the fourth officials ears whenever fouls are called against them.

Don't know about Xabi though but I think it will be alot less. Maybe two games is my guess

I'm posting it because it's a decent read and relevant to the thread. F365 has no bias, it's just a lazy accusation by intolerant fascist types like you.

And I'm not sorry if it upsets you. Maybe you and your cronies should grow up and stop spitting your dummies out because people don't agree with your narrow-minded, blinkered viewpoints.  Thumbs up

The proper, genuine Real Madrid fans won't care, they will acknowledge only the success of their club. It's the fake, glory-supporting element that bothers far more than they should with people who dislike the club.

Like I said; stop spitting your dummy out and crying simply because people disagree with you.

Maybe because people forgot or can't remember but I can't really understand where this Simeone sympathy is coming from. I remember actually being afraid of him when he was a player and that was from the comfort of my own living room.

And from the looks of things, he has taken his own mentality and dickishness and bestowed it upon this Atletico side. Pretty good considering Spain really needed another team challenging but at the same time, still very odd of people he has gathered public sympathy.

If Mourinho did something like that, heavens to Murgatroyd, people might burst a vessel in their fingers typing out their retribution.

Simeone acted like a fool, but he was provoked and people can see that. Mourinho would behave like that with no provocation at all, simply because he is a degenerate.

It makes all Real Madrid fans happy and proud to see the sadness of their haters, it means they are doing something right that is pissing some people off.

Provoked? The ball was passed in his direction gently. If Simione can get "provoked" from something as trivial as that then he has no right to pretend he is a tough guy.

Oh and calling someone a fascist should be an automatic warning if you ask me.

Varane knew what he was doing. Trying to downplay his antagonistic behaviour with this "gently passed" bullshit is pathetic.

There was no reason whatsoever to do what he did other than to rile Simeone.

That said Diego's reaction was embarrassing.

I agree with you, success is the most important thing but seeing people getting pissed off over Ronaldo's celebration is also a cherry on top.  Razz

Trying to headbutt somebody is antagonistic, passing a ball to him is not. If Varane was trying to be antagonistic then his attempt at it was really poor, any self respecting adult would not have reacted. Simione actually tried to hit Varane with the ball so he was arguably being antagonistic.

Varane has zero incidents and is well known as a calm player and person.

Simione has been a trouble maker and hothead his entire career as a player and as a coach. Basically he tried to pull a Mourinho and fell flat on his face.

Ronaldo got a huge ovation at the Bernabeu during the celebrations. They loved the celebration, case closed imo.

Please FFS! There was no reason for Varane do to what he did other than to provoke Simeone.

It may have been weak and feeble, but the intention was clear.
