I have been a big champion of Khedira in past seasons, by far our most underrated player tbh. But yesterday, he was utterly useless.... Carlo was forced to make a tough decision on who to start because Xabi couldnt play.

Yesterday Madrid went from being the most successful club in Europe, to....being the most successful club in Europe
I wonder who is suffering more, Atletico fans or Barcelona fans?

just look at dnmac past 30 posts in this thread Jibers, u will have your answer
also jibers, we went from being a club clouded in disappointment to a club enjoying the greatest success you can in club football. Hopefully it doesnt take another 12 years to win the CL again, we have a good thing going atm, and we can improve some areas.
Great coach, Carlo; a superstar, CR; a leader, Ramos; genius CB, Varane; Hustlers and fighters, Di Maria, Modric; technique freaks, Isco, Benzema. we have nice balance all around we can strengthen

also madrid has more champions leagues since the beginning of the modern format in 1993 than any other team
so much for real's glory being " too old "

I know I know, but this La Decima obsession was bordering on ridiculous tbh. I get why you were frustrated. I expect Madrid to be challenging for a sextuple next season. If they do that they will go down in history. Carajal is arguably the quickest player in your team as well.

Yeah, Carvajal, not getting a lot of attentions, but he has improved a lot from what and where he was earlier in the season. The boy is 21, it's only normal. His attacking game and crosses arent there yet, but he is going to be an excellent fullback soon.
it's over now, the Decima is here and behind us tomorrow. winning the CL is amazing, happy for guys like CR, not having that on his resume after all the goals he scored for madrid would have been a shame. Now he is going down as one of the greatest for sure.

Zeal I like your sig. Creative.
Funny how this win for Madrid is as much as relief as our win was last weekend. Just shows the expectation that we as fans and the people around the club (owners, media) place upon the club.
Anyway, no one bothered to answer McLewis' question, what is indeed next for Madrid?

Re: CL Final: Real Madrid 4-1 Atletico Madrid Post Match Discussion
Isco had maybe one or two positive interactions but there is no way a coach would have started a trio of modric di maria and isco at the start of a CL final. It was much wiser to start more cautiously then bring on a more attacking option than the other way around.
I am just surprised Illarra did not start in place of Khedira.
And I am no fan of Illarra, but what is the point in starting Khedira who has played less than an hour of football over Illarra who has played decently the past couple matches?

he meant at Madrid, he wouldn't be considered as highly as other madrid greats without a CL title

Spurs apparently get an estimated £15m from Real Madrid, because both Modric and Bale had CL winning clauses.

Thanks man, can't take credit for it though since I didn't make it
As for what is next for Madrid it will be trying to win multiple La Ligas in a row. Our record domestically in recent times isn't that impressive considering the high level the team has been playing at in recent years.

Re: CL Final: Real Madrid 4-1 Atletico Madrid Post Match Discussion
Too late , but , congrats to all Madrilenos . I am happy for Real and Ancelotti that they have managed their ultimate goal together.
Although , i did feel a bit sad for Atletico in the end. Being moments away from closing an already epic season with a CL victory , only to get demolished in the end.
It was a final with a lot of surprises near the end , despite it being somewhat lackluster for the most part. The end result was nothing sort of satisfying ; the very least you expect from a CL final.
What i will never forget from this final was that moment , when Marcelo was crying on the pitch even before the final was over . He has been with Real for so many years now , along with many of his teammates and each season he was told La Decima is the goal and each season would have to live with the pressure and the coinsequences of that failed goal. And at that moment , he did finally realise that they have actually done it . So much vindication , so many feels . Marcelo

It's an awesome match! I think we'll remember this match with 99' United and 2005 Liverpool.
