Re: The Order: 1886
Uncharted takes you in, makes you love who you're supposed to love, hate who you're supposed to hate and make you feel like you're a part of an epic movie ffs
Quality is indeed > Quantity however Uncharted if you play it on a proper difficulty and don't rush through (again, you can't on a higher difficulty) it still takes a fair chunk of time
This looks like it'll be a one night run through type of game that you'll be disappointed with even if you sort of enjoyed it.

Re: The Order: 1886
finished it
I understand a few of the criticisms but it's a damn good game IMO
found it enjoyable, look forward to a potential sequel where they can iron out a few of the gripes I have with it, but there's definitely a solid foundation here has the potential to be a GOAT game series in the future.

Isn't this RAD's first AAA game?
Think they only made PSP games & ports.

Think so, they made GOW on PSP though and that apparently was great.

It better be a damn good game, when the actual amount of gameplay in it is so limited in length and originality that, excluding the quicktime events, you can finish it all during a productive lunch break. No amount of eye-candy is going to be able to compensate for that.
I don't mind paying $100 or more for games that I'm interested in, and I suspect you don't either, but the majority of consumers are always going to save those 100 bucks for the few quality games that provide longevity/replay value, as well as decent entertainment value. The Order 1886 just doesn't seem like that kind of game.
You may argue that those people should just wait and purchase the game used or on sale or something, but the game's not going to survive on that, and I don't think you should be optimistic about this turning into a series, based on the impression given by the first game. I'm sure all of the hype surrounding The Order 1886 will boost sales by a significant amount, but the actual product has nothing going for it, that can justify it's price tag.

Do productive lunch breaks take 7-10 hours

Yes, I have a friend who calls my workplace and tips my boss that we're going to be attacked by terrorists. Once the local law enforcement arrives, I just tell them it's a false alarm
- I said excluding quicktime events. The only person I know who has bought this game, claims that he finished it in about 7 hours.

Re: The Order: 1886
I reckon I finished the game in about 7.5 hrs, probably about 5 hrs of gameplay, I think a lot of the hate stems from trying to justify paying £40/$60 for the game, since I rented it that wasn't really a factor for me in how I rated it. would I pay full retail price for it? no, if money was no object though I'd definitely want to play it, it's a good experience.
setting is legit ffs, rich mans underworld

I think the remake of Tomb Raider is more likely to be remembered, 1 year from now, than The Order 1886 will be Granted, the latter did make a significant leap in pushing graphics towards the next level.

Re: The Order: 1886
For the game this short, the story is not good enough. U need some mind blowing plot to compensate, it looks stunning though.

Re: The Order: 1886
Played this game at a friends house.
Very short, story not good enough to justify it's length, cut scene and QTA HEAVY...........
........ but I sort of enjoyed(?) it......
Had a Gears of War 1 feel to it.*
*I am not saying it is like Gears. It is not Gears. It never will be. Gears is WAY better than this.
