Schürrle is better than Mata
Oscar was too until he turned awful around Christmas.

I'm not convinced by Hazard. Schürrle has shown just as much if we are going to be really honest. Even more so when you look at it just being his first year in the league.

For 50m You can buy someone who actually closes down their man when Terry tells them to, not do interviews in the opposition shirt after being beat by them during a tie, and doesnt whine to the press about the playing style of the manager.

In Lille he contributed to one of the best defences that year and a Ligue 1 and has been an absolute wall in Milan, contributing to a far improve defence.

We're getting Rami for less than €5m while while a CB who isn't as good is going for €50m.

Won't hear that Luiz is even worth half of that.

Valencia stint of Rami's first year was fantastic. I agree at times he may rely on his strength to bail him out yet in no way he wilts in big games, shown the complete opposite during his Lille years, form in Valencia and Milan without a doubt. His command of the backline, marking of an opponent, passes in areas and shooting add to his dimensional play that has improved the team as a whole.


M99, Skrtel and Rami both are better at defending than Luiz without a doubt as that hyperbole is why Luiz is insanely overrated.

Sorry Arqi... but Rami was absolutely awful for France in that Euro and even a bit before and after.  Nothing to do with the setup.  He's just not a top shelf CB.  If he can't get the athletic edge he crumbles.  The England CBs were eating him alive on FKs, Ibra destroyed him and then Spain molesed him.  That's 3 games in a row right there.

Watching him against Madrid at Valencia... he was very error prone too.

Not that Mexes was any better grant you.  They both went completely down the toilet in 2012.

Agreed, i hope he gets the recognition that he deserves. Because more or less he is as good as any CB in the world. I am looking forward to the GOAT combination of Luiz+Silva. Also from a marketing perspective signing Luiz is absolutely genius.

Still very sad to see him leave Chelsea.
