Zidane Vs Pirlo

Pretty self explanatory, who do you think played better in his time at Juventus?

personally, was watching some clips of zidane in another thread and said to myself, damn id rather have pirlo. I thought,"this cant be" so I downloaded some old games and honestly, the more I watch, the more prefer pirlo.

Pirlo in 2011/12 was better than Zidane ever was for us. The last 2 years, especially this year, Pirlo has regressed quite a bit since then, and I would take Zidane over this Pirlo or the one from last season.

Their style is competely differnt. Zidane is more of an AM.. Pirlo is a DM, just crosses the ball from one side to the other and has amazing FKs

I agree he's regressed recently, yet is still very decisive, set piece or not.
but I find that watching as it happens (which I did not) and the context of the time gives better perspective, which is what im looking for.

To refer to what pirlo does as simply "crossing the ball from side to side" sounds like an incredible oversimplification, almost a slap in the face.

I didn't really used to watch Zidane at Juventus, but I've seen videos, and to be honest, you also have to compare the leagues strength when Zidane was playing, and the league strength when Pirlo was playing for us. I think it was better back then, but I'm not saying it was bad when Pirlo played with Juventus, but maybe it wasn't as good as those years. so maybe Zidane, but I can't really choose lol. Plus, Zidane was probably more consistent for us considering Pirlo doesn't seem like he's as good as his first year with us.

but pirlo never played a match as juventus-ajax since he is to juve ...

Zidane is the only player that I think when someone mentions Messi and Ronaldo that says enough for my view of him. Pirlo is unique in his own way in his position.

Yes Devi. Thats why Zidane have won the ballon d'or and pirlo hasn't.

Serie A was by far the best league in the world in 90s... also, in his 5 years at Juve, Zidane made the BdO podium 3 times. Should have won it twice; but he got reprimanded for a red card in CL in 2000. Nevermind that he was by far the best player in the world that season and probably had his best season as a player....
